Joe Torre is out. We all know that. Many believe that he should have taken the offer and come back. However, Torre felt that his time there was up. So who is to fill his shoes? Today the Yankees interviewed former catcher, former bench coach, and former manager Joe Girardi. Tomorrow, Don Mattingly is scheduled to be interviewed. So who takes over? I personally believe that Girardi should take over. He knows the pressures of New York, he's dealt with the Yankees front office before, and he has been a manager before. Mattingly should remain bench coach or go back to being a hitting insturctor. That's where I believe he's best. First base coach Tony Pena is also going to be interviewed too. I don't think he can do as good of a job that Girardi can do and he has done real well as a first base coach. What do you think?

I think whomever replaces him is in for it. They will be compared to Torre. If the Yankees don't start winning, the press will have a field day.I must confess that I like Torre but I hate, hate the Yankees so this will be fun for me to watch.Oh, of all the candidates I guess Girardi would be the best.

Unfortuantely you're right that the media will have a field day critizing the next manager. The next skipper will have a handful but he won't have to deal with George. But George's sons will just as hard. It will be interesting on how the Yankees will do next year under new management along with who is going to stay in New York.

Oops , I forgot. A-Rod and some others are free agents right?I remember the guys on ESPN saying that there were a few who may just leave if Torre isn't managing next year. Will it be a grand or small exodus?

I was surprised when I heard that but I think Torre did about all he's gonna do with this team. I will give him credit, he did a heck of a job for that team. Whoever gets that job is going to have some big shoes to fill. It could be Girardi but then again it could be some guy nobody is even thinking of. Only time will tell on this franchise and what they're going do.
