Bush wants 46 Billion more for the war- Is there no way to stop him?

I just heard on the news that The president is asking congress for $46 BILLION more for the war in Iraq. That is on top of the $196 BILLION that has already been spent this year alone. I don't know what the total bill for this war is at this point but I do remember that in the first year or so the price tag was some $400 BILLION. I would guess we are now talking in the TRILLION range. Well, I just went to Hillary Clinton's web page and sent her an e-mail asking that they please stop handing this administration fists full of money. This war will not end and our troops will not get to come home (my son included)as long as this man can lay his hands on one red cent. It is time for him to open his personal bank account and start paying for what he wants himself. How do you feel about this.

I feel just as you do, Mom! And you, as a mom of one of our brave soldiers have more of a right to your opinion than most of us do. I saw Bush's statement on TV, asking for things like "bullets and body-armour"; funny, but our troops didn't have body armour not long ago and it was Congress, not Bush, that pushed for them to have the equipment they needed. Now, he's trying to put the guilt trip on Congress if they don't give more money. I say it's high time Congress stops funding this war, as you said our troops will never come home otherwise! Annie

Thanks Annie. Some people who don't have their loved ones putting themselves in harms way blow a lot of hot air. Telling people that they want to fund this war to me is the same as saying that they don't care how many of Americas finest and bravest military people die. Let just keep it up. );.

I support the war. I would give my own money to bankroll it, if I made more than minimum wage.

So you think you're NOT giving your own money to bankroll it? I do not support it and I'd rather MY money go to pay for health care for kids and to feed the hungry! Annie

If so much of our tax money weren't going toward this war the government might be able to raise minimum wage to a level that a person could survive (I won't say live)on. Does Bush care about you? No. If so much money were not going on this war maybe people like me could get affordable health insurance ( I am one of those people, haven't had insurance in 10 and 2 major illnesses have drained us financially). Does Bush care about me? NO. Go ahead give more of your money. He will just use it and then want more.

By the way Mr. Coolant, I see that you are 23 years old and live in North Carolina. Instead of sitting there making minimum wage why not JOIN THE ARMY? When all is said and done they pay a little more than minimum wage (but not much).

I completely agree with you! Hearing this just infuriates me. This is an ENDLESS and the most senseless war ever! I wish we could impeach him!!! He is the worst.

Maybe if he had some hanky panky in the oval office we could get rid of him - do you think? But on the other hand I can't imaginge any woman wanting to. At least Clinton was good looking :). Thanks for you opinion.

I wonder how the soldiers feel when they hear people talking about how they don't support the war and don't want to give money to help them out. Whether or not you like Bush you should at least support the soldiers who are over their fighting for us.

Despite there being people who say we should stop giving money to this war, Bush keeps getting every dollar he asks for, and our soldiers are still getting killed and maimed and wounded every day. Part of the reason people are against the war is because they don't like the troops dying over there. So please do not say that people who don't support the war also do not support the troops.

No Ben I don't agree with this war, but I do support out military. That is why I am watching MY SON go back a second time. I wonder do you have a son over there like I do. I can tell you how the soldiers feel. They want it to END. My son would rather come home than have new body aurmor.

So you would have our soiders in Iraq without weapons and ammo? thats the only thing not funding the war will do. If our troops are ever to come home we must di what is neccery to win and get Iraq able to defend itself. Wars cost money, I am sure some people didn't want to fight wwii but could you emmagen the out come if we told FDR we were not going to fund the war? The serge is working and alquida are on the run, why give up and let them regroup? I know you miss your son but how does he fell about it? Hitlery is not going to stop the war, she said so herself thet she could not even guranty she copuld bring them home by the end of her first term.

I think you are right. No happy ending for them or for us and on top of that I saw on the news this evening that if this war continues until the end of the decade it will end up costing 2.4 TRILLION dollars. I don't know about anyone else, but my budget is streched just about as far as it can go and he still wants more. Disgusting
