Encryption for USB Flash Drives

I have a Flash Drive I use for backing items up.
I would like a way of encrypting the data on it so that if it gets lost or stolen people cannot read the files on it.
At the moment, some of the zipped files have a password to open them, if they are part of my accounting program, but aside from that, pretty much everything on it can be opened and read by anyone.
I would like a way to protect this information permanently.
All help gratefully appreciated.

I dont know if your flashdrive is the same as mine, but with mine your can password the flashdrive so that a password is needed before you can access the files stored on the flashdrive, also a flashdrive can be used like an electronic key for your computer, a flashdrive can be used as a lock to lock your computer so only you can access it using the flashdrive as its key

you can do this with the help of folder lock which also helps in data encryption in flash drives
