Do you have favorite a cat name that you recycle? Pyewacket is the name that I recycle. My family had two female cats back to back that were named Pyewacket. The first was a black manx & the second one was according from the people that we got her from half Himalayan & half Siamese. The third one was the daughter of two of my current cats. Lucy a Balinese & her son Moonshine a black & white tuxcedo. I have also known people with male cats named Pyewacket. I find it a bit ironic that all these cats named Pyewacket are black when the Witches familiar in Bell Book & Candle was a Siamese. And yes if I ever get another black cat I will probably; almost defintely name him or her Pyewacket! So how about you guys? Do you recycle names? I should point out that Pyewacket is the only name I reycle; because it is so magical & unique.

I think each cat is unique and different and I wouldn't want to recycle them. I guess it's similar to having the whole 'Jr, the third, the fourth" an so on down the line. But I don't think I'd ever want to have another Reggie Cat if I didn't have my original Reggie Cat!

My family's first cat was named Pyewacket! They told me the inspiration for it once, but I forgot, since I was only five or so when she was around. I might recycle that name because I don't have terribly strong memories of her (but the ones I do have are nice).
I wouldn't recycle the name Kirby, since that was my old Manx cat, and I grew up with her. She was definitely a member of my family, so it would seem wrong to give another cat her name. Perhaps, if I really got fancy, I'd use it as a middle name. ;)

I used Cookie for my cat's kitten. My cat Dubby adopted a female kitten and we needed a name for her, so I used my niece's cat's name for her.

That is so cute!
I do not have any pet now. Though I would like a cat to my home after I make my other plans real. I will be thinking on names then. I can not wait :)

Thats nice.My daughter and i got into the manx cats accidently, the ones with no tail, and then they had babies and we have all our cats mostly without tails...My daughter named hers Mouse and i named mine Minnie...So we have used Minnie mouse, mouse and Minnie for along time now.The cat i have now is a manx and he is 4 years old and i was going to name him Mickey but my hubby named him tom,so I call him Thomas....but we have used Minnie, little Minnie,Mouse and little mouse...Lol, its funny how you get names and use them over and over...

I don't have a favourite name I always see something about the particular cat as my current cat only has a stump for a tail so I call him Stumpy but I have a friend who always has the same sort of cat, always female and they are always called "Man", I think the story is the first cat they had they thought it was male and called it Man and then found out that sort of cat is always femal so every cat after that one looked exactly the same and was called "Man"...

I have never recycled a name. The closest I've come is calling this new cat Rose when I used to have a cat named Briar Rose, but we always called her Briar. Besides, we named this new gal after the Doctor's companion, since the other cat we got from this lady we named Capt Jack, another of the Doctor's companions.
I do find myself calling Gabby "Briar" because she's a lot like the crazy old gal, in looks & behaviour. And considering that I've had over 50 cats so far, I think that's a LOT of names!

No, everyone had their own name, painstakenly chosen, never to be used again. I'd like to use a name that I used before, but I can't because it already belongs to someone. Even though he is in heaven right now (got hit by a car), I keep him in my heart and his name is sacred.
