Microwaved food

As I sat here eating my microwaved burger I wondered what foods you microwave?
Until recently microwave burgers were nasty - now some of them seem quite nice (and they're convenient).
I tend to microwave a lot of things becuse they take a few minutes instead of an hour in the oven. I'm not always happy with the result though.
I also microwave vegetables rather than boil them as they stay crispy and I believe they keep more of their nutrients.
What do you microwave? Is there anything you think is better microwaved than cooked another way?

Personally I use the microwave more for re heating than for cooking. Sometimes I used it together with the stove as a team but I don't think I ever cooked anything from beginning to end in the microwave only.
It's still one of the more used things in our kitchen. I usually freeze leftovers in individual portions and we use them on nights were we are all busy and with less time to cook as well.

honestly, we never tried yet to use microwave to heat a burger. When we need to heat bread to have it crispy pr heated we always use the oven. Now, going back to your question. We use microwave to heat food like beef steak, chicken, sphagetti, foods with a lil soup and even soup, and the like.

Things are better baked in the oven, but who has time for that. I pretty much microwave everything!

Unfortunately, we don't have microwave's here in our house. We only cook using the stove, and sometimes order burgers or other fastfood products to be delivered. But I sometimes used microwave's when I am at work, especially when I'm in a hurry.
I still have doubt's in using too much of microwave oven's for foods, mostly because of the radiation it produces but I believe that there are recent studies which shows that using microwaves does not harm us in any way. Well, I still have to wait and see if this findings are really true or not!;)

Thanks for your response raijin!
I think there's been a lot of research that shows that food cooked in a microwave causes no harm but I think we'll only know for sure in the future when people either start having problems from using a microwave for 30 years - or they don't.

I do tend to use the microwave for vegetables and for convenience foods sometimes, however I also like to do baked potatoes quickly and I frequently make up meals in microwave containers in the freezer so I can have a proper home cooked meal in moments

I use the microwave a lot. Especially when I am going to eat a frozen meal for lunch at work. I also use the microwave to heat up leftovers from the day before. The microwave is fast and convenient!

I don't use the microwave too much for actual cooking, but I will use it to reheat food. Usually when I want to heat up small things, I will use the toaster oven because I don't like how the microwave can somtimes make bread hard.
When I do use the microwave for cooking, I will use those microwave steamer bags for veggies, or I will sometimes microwave potatoes rather than baking them. I find that I can save a lot of time that way.

I'd rather not have to microwave things. So I usually cook things the longer harder way. I enjoy cooking. Plus I like fresher foods more often and I don't know...the microwave doesn't give me that fresh food feeling.
SO i pretty much only microwave things like...leftovers and/or hot pockets. Things that are meant for the microwave but it's kind of rare that I get that sort of stuff.

I used to be very anti-microwave meal and would only eat them when there was nothing else to eat. However, we had a really awful gas stove in my student housing this past year, so sometimes it was necessary. I've discovered that nicer stores (like Marks and Spencer in the UK) actually have nice, healthy microwave meals. The best M & S ones are their Indian curries and Chinese dishes (like crispy duck with plum sauce---yum!).
I also like microwaving corn because it tastes just as good and takes half as long. Just remove the husks, wash, wrap in Saran wrap (be sure to poke a few holes!) and then pop in the microwave for a few minutes. Easy!

Yeh sometimes you can't help but just grab soemthign and throw it int he microwave. But that food is horrible for your body. Most microwavable foods you find in the frozen section, tast nasty anyways. Your better off just goign to Mcdonald;s for a hamburger it had the same calories but atleast it tastes good. Just my 2 cents :)
