in my opinion steve vai is the msot overrated guitarist!he is just good guitarist that's all not the best!

i disagree! Vai is one of the best guitarist! just listen to his music, you'll find it amazing how he can put his emotions into the notes that he play. If you can't see/feel it that way, then you're really not listening to his music.

Overrated? im sorry but i LOVE steve vai, hes freakin insane, look up his song called for the love of god, then try to learn it on guitar ha, neways i dont think hes overrated i think hes worth exactly what people give him credit for

ya,, video tender surrender is the most expresive guitar playin,, i got his emotion there,, so gorgeus,, he can play well,, he play so tehcnical and never forget his attitude,, great man,, i think now he is better than his teacher,, Joe satriani,,about attitude...

Well people are entitle to their own opinions anyway. So if you think he's overrated and all, I respect that. In my opinion, Steve Vai is an excellent guitarist. His journey through rock and roll gave him the "Musical Wisdom" to be what he is today. I think he is brilliant in such a way that he does fear stepping out of the box. He does not live within the constraints of "The Scale". His style and grace when it comes to playing is everything but overrated in my opinion. If he's the most overrated then what do you call the guitarist from My Chemical Romance? Does he have the guts to write in 5/8? Haha.

i pity your ignorance! anyway your entitled to your own opinion. the fact that there are other guitar virtuoso, having to win the hearts of many with his music and technique is in fact unquestionable of his prowess. learn a song of his,not just by playing it! put "HEART AND SOUL!!!" if you have one...

There's a lot of overrated guitarists to my opinion. For example : joe satriani, carlos santana.. etc.. I know people in my surrounding who play much better than them.

I have been listening Steve Vai for a short time but I would say - he is god on guitar! He is a virtuoso guitar player!One of his songs that are my favourites-For the love of God, Whisoering a prayer, Tender Surrender. The song "For the love of God" is unreal-amazing masterpiece!

He is the most passionate guitar player I've ever seen. His music is strange; it's beautiful but still strange. There's no room for any rating here mate. This guy is a maestro. He's a brilliant musician. You have to study music to appreciate his musical skills. And he's got the sound!
