How Do You Feel When The Holiday Is Over

I have had two great weeks in Rhodes but tomorrow night I fly back home to the UK! The time has gone soooo quickly, and the holiday was part of my escape plan. I actually feel happy to go home! I have had enough, I do miss my home comforts and even the British weather, although the last few days Rhodes has suffered monsoon weather! I miss the television, there is television in my room but all the channels are German or Greek unless I want to watch the News channel which is the only channel out of 22 that is in English! How do you feel when it's time to come home, do you feel refreshed and looking forward to returning to the place you know so well and home and work? Or do you get upset and wish you could stay longer or never return? Do you sad and really depressed at having to face the long journey back, back to reality? For the first time ever I am very happy to be heading home, but it's a different home this time somewhere safer to start a new life.

the last REAL vacation I went on was about 3 years ago. I spent 3 weeks in Australia. When it was over, I had quite a few things running through my mind. I was sad because I'd loved being in Australia. It was the first time I'd been off my continent. I was just simply amazed. I didn't want to come home. I didn't want to go back to work. I was also kind of happy because as much as I'd loved it, I was glad to be back on American ground. I felt so weird being in this other country. Where I couldn't drive and it was opposite me. Where I didn't know how to use the phone or the money. Where things seemed SOOO Expensive cause the money was so different. where I didn't have .. Home. I couldn't even use my cell phone. and I desperately missed my kitty. I also felt sick. Because i had some serious jetlag when I came home. where i was was about 16 hours time difference. I'd left 3/22 at 10 am and I got home on 3/22 at 7 am. How weird is that??

I do not like the weather here in the Winter, and now that it is fall, it is getting dark and depressing. My heart is somewhere else, I grew up as a youngster in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada to me that is my home, not where I live now in Winnipeg. I know some people might say love the flatness, love the blizzards and the snow and make romantic poetry about it, and about the hockey, curling, etc. but to me, seeing the mountains and the ocean is home. What I want to see when I come home is my friends, not the lack of television --there were lots of programs I could watch in the States, not my computer, I could easily use someone else's as I had my novel uploaded to Yahoo briefcase. I could save for laptop, and once I got that, I can write anywhere. So do not force me to think of someplace as home even though I live there, a place where there is water nearby, the sea or an ocean, where I can see the mountains, and it is at least a mild climate most of the year, to me that is home.

I haven't had a real holiday in years so once I have one I will let you know and also I haven;'t got my own home lol.I am living betwen three houses, my Dad's, Sister's and Fiance's so once I have my own place to call home and actually go on a holiday to come back to a home I will let you know. I actually feel quite tired of not having my own nest. Maybe one day eh?

Ther is no place quite like home, wolfie! And you will be taking with you all of the fond memories of your holiday in Rhodes. It doesn't get much better than that. I am sure that it will take a period of adjustment while you are getting used to the new surroundings in your new life, but the change will do you good. Don't allow yourself to be weighed down with thoughts and memories of the past. Tuck them away in the dark recesses of your mind. Only you have the option of one day bringing them out again, or leaving them there permanently. I wish you all the best.

I love going on a holiday but I hate coming home. I wish I could win a lottery and be on a holiday all the time. But I guess so does everyone else. I could travel all the time. I like to see different things in the world. I guess I don't have a very happy life at home so this is probably why I wish to always be on a holiday.

Thanks, I know it will probably never happen, but we can all wish. I will keep buying lottery tickets just in case. Without a ticket, you have no chance of winning. I only spend about $5.00 a week on tickets.

Vacations are wonderful—for a short time- Then I get thinking of all the things that need to be done back home. So it’s almost a relief until I get home and have all the catching up to do. I’m really glad to hear that you had a good time on your holiday. I hope things go smoothly for you when you return home- keep in touch with us so we know what is happening with you.

I don't travel alot but last summer I went to Branson to see my Dad and after 2 days I was ready to be home. My Brother's g/f drove me nuts, I missed Hubby, I was tired of being in the car and I wanted to just bum around in my play clothes and relax. !!HAPPY EASTER!! **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Good morning, dear wolfie. As I always love whatever holidays they are, I feel upset when the holiday is over. I love to stay home doing whatever I like during my holidays and I feel relaxed from the holidays. Always when it is over, I am starting to look forward to the next holiday or at least to my days off. Once I work, I feel stressful. So holidays are always welcome and the longer, the better. lol

Oh, it took me a while to figure out what you were talking about. At first I was sure that you meant "Holidays: Seasons Greetings, Christmas, etc. time of year in December". (I am in America, so we always call mainly that time as "The Holidays." Then I was confused that you would be AWAY from home? Or was it that you were visiting more family out of your home town? Anyway, enough of me blabbing on. Hee hee. I realized, you meant (in American English language): VACATION. Vacation is nice, but not very special. Now I do not travel. But I always remember, during childhood, back in school, whenever summer vacation drew near, I was so sad, because (yes, laugh at me), I LOVED the busy school schedule. I loved seeing all my friends, doing all of my loving activities, playing, sticking to my regular activity, etc. Mostly I'd mimss everyone. But once vacation got going, I'd never want it to end! ;o)

I think most of us have such feelings. The happy time is always short for me. But if you spend much time on vavation you will feel boring. Short vacation is always good for relaxing while you will feel meaningless when you stay in the Rhodes for a long time.
