what age should we give our kid a cell phone?

i think around age 13 is the best time. If their responsible.

Thank you for your response. I think you are right from the age 13 to 15 is the right age for them to have a cell phone with responsibility put on them. May be at 13 is a little bit too young for it but if they go out and you want to know where they are then the cell phone is a good tracking device. Hoever, it is an expensive thing to have unless we give them a cell phone with a prepaid card for the safe side. What do you think?

well, i think they should have a cellphone if they can handle the responsibility of taking care of their own things. You should consider how they will value the things around them especially the one that was given to them.

I think 15 is ok....
bcoz at this age he will come to know that what is value of money of father....
and also how to care the things which may be costly or not but should be cared...
in other words he/she will came to know about his/her responsibility......
thats my opinion....
but after all
its all above the child ........

We should give a mobile to a baby, before he born, se he can call his mother and say "alert, I'm going to come out".
I was Joking!
I think it's not a good idea to give a mobile while he is still a child... he doesn't need it, it is only a way to spoil your child.

i would give my kid a cell phone probably around 12 as long as it wasn't abused.

I got my oldest daughter a track phone for her 1h B-Day...Just so when she was at a friends or out some where she could get ahold of me at anytime if there was somethign that happened or if she jsut wanted to call and so I can check on her when I want to.LOL I think thats what I'm getting my middle daughter for her 10 th b-day in Dec....

I think all young children should have a cell phone. Its just up to the parent to be responsible about how they let their kids use it. They have many phones out there made for young children. I know if i had a kid i would feel more safe knowing that my kid has a phone on him/her when their outside playing.
