Among my classic favourites would be "South Pacific", "Carousel", "Guys and Dolls" and "A Star is Born" (Judy Garland version), while contemporary faves would include "Evita" and "The Phantom of the Opera".

Believe it or not, I haven't seen Carousel or Guys and Dolls. But I did like South Pacific. The first version of A Star is Born was the Barbra Streisand version.I finally did see the other two versions , but I like Streisand's version best.

You'll love "Guys and Dolls"; fabulous numbers by Frank Loesser, like "Good old reliable Nathan" and "Luck be a Lady". I think one or more were cut from the movie, which is sad. The best production I ever saw was a stage one. The movie was good though, well it should have been, it had Sinatra and Brando in it! "Carousel" is a little bit over-sweet perhaps; but great songs!

The Streisand version is good...but still prefer the Garland one!

Gigi, The Sound of Music, Singing in the Rain, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. My grandmother enjoyed them and watching them now brings back great childhood memories.

That sure is a hard question to answer. So I'll say "ditto" to yours and add Grease, Funny Girl, State Fair, My Fair Lady, West Side Story and Carousel. Too bad they don't make very many these days. Annie

I don't watch a lot of musicals, so my favorite is Sound of Music. It never grows old.

I'd have to say my favorite is Little Shop of Horrors. It was originally a movie that was then turned into a broadway musical and then that was turned into the musical movie. It's the best though. I love it. I was in A Chorus Line when I was in high school. I do also have a soft spot for the sound of music and Grease!

Skid Row (Downtown) has got to be my favorite. I think it's a good anytime movie, but I'm sure that it'll be good especially at Halloween.

I like Sweet Charity - the ending where her fiance walks out on her just before the wedding is so sad, also Chicago,Cabaret, and also Gypsy (Natalie Wood).
