Why do people you try to help turn around and kick you in the teeth. I tried to help my sister out after her marriage broke up and all I have got bacj is heartache. Why is this so? makes me feel like never helping anyone out again.

I know what you mean, thats happened with me. I sometimes wonder if it's more to do with being reminded of bad times, and wanting to rid yourself of this. You don't say what you mean by heartache though, has she herself been responsible for that or others involved in the split?

It's nothing to do with the split. It's the things I've tried to help her with after the split.

Oh, then i don't know what to say apart from step away and leave her too it. Hopefully when things are more settled she'll realise you were there for her and mend some bridges. Don't let it get you down too much, you've tried to help and she'll see that eventually.

Thanks for your kind words. That is exactly what I'm doing now as I don't need her stressing me out.

I know she's your sister, but don't waste time on people who don't appreciate you or the help that you offer. There are some people in this world who always seem to take advantage of the people around them, especially those closest to them. I'm sure she is not the only one she has treated like sh*t during this and that will definitely come and bite her on the bum when she eventually stops thinking about herself.
Don't worry............she'll come crawling back eventually when she wants something! Not that you wouldn't already be accustomed to being treated like that by "the one formally known as".
Just consentrate you energies and efforts to those people around you who actually care and appreciate what you do for them.
