Do you think everyone have to or need to cook?

when I was yong, about 11 years old,something bad about cooking happened to me . that day, my grandparent was cooking the dish, while I was sending the wood to the fireplace.then suddenly many drips of oil run to my face.I found that's because my grandmother cooked the meat with water carelessly.The result was terrible, and last, my face was compeletely burnt ,and became a full-face scar and very ugly.Even now I still can see the left small scars on my head. Since then, I never wanted to do the Chinese cooking any more. I like to cook when I was yong, but now I can't get close to these Chinese cooking. Do you think everyone have to or need to cook? for me, I want to learn some kind of cooking which is not so connected with the oil,.Maybe I can make some soup.
