Is it degrading to wear a uniform? I don't think so, in fact, if not for anything, I would like to wear uniforms because it saves me the effort of thinking what to wear the next day and the things that go with it.
But since I had been working for freelance for three years now, I haven't worn any company uniform till now.
However, recently, a friend of mine hired me as their part-time marketing exec. As part of the job, he is sending me to another city as part of the team that will take care of the company's exhibit of our local products.
With that I am required to wear the company uniform, which so much looks like the uniforms that fastfood crews wear. I didn't mind, in fact, the owner offered to pay for my pants, because I didnt have the kind of pants that
they wear with the shirt.
Anyway, when I told my mom, she sort of sneered and asked if I'm already employed there. Then I told my brother about it and he said, well, at least nobody knows you there.
I asked my boyfriend what he thinks about it because my mom and bro didn't really like the idea, or so it seems. But we both couldn't find anything wrong with it...I mean it's not degrading or what, and I'm being paid to do
it. It's just part of the job, right?
I'm even planning to wear the uniform when I go around marketing for the company in the city so that I will be identified. And at least, I will also be a walking advertisement for our company.
I can't understand why they are so squeamish about it. What about you?
