is ram-sethu bridge necessary?

There are many routes proposed to reach srilanka which is explained by the opposition party............... Destroying the bridge damages the huge thorium resourses under the bridge which may cause radioactive effects on acquatic life................ the route made by removing the bridge only reduces 8hrs of time............... it is the duty of every indian to respect the spiritual beliefs like a holy temple........ it must be protected....................

On the spirutual end ram sethu is one of the monument of lord sriram. Sri Ram is not only identified as lord but also as a perfect role model in one's life. He followed dharma in all part of his life. So this bridge makes us to remember that big leader. On the scientifical end i)Ihis bridge protected some of our coastal areas from the Tsunami wave. ii)This bridge carries natural Thorium which will get affected if the bridge is destroyed. iii) Till now the region where the bridge is, is considered to be independent area only for india and sri lanka. if the ship yard is laid in this region then it becomes an international route line which creats a defense threat. iv) This canal project saves only 36 hours of journey which is not so effective project. v) This affects fishing in that region and thus fisher mens of that coast are affected.. Thus on the whole ram sethu project on this path is a davaster and goverment is unnecessariely harmin the emotions of hindus. As Mr. Adhvani said being secular doesn't mean to harm the hindus.
