hi this is some helpful advice that you can try when your cooking.
*wet hands when cutting the garlic to avoid sticking on your hands.
*put garlic into warm water before peeling for 5 minutes.
*put little vinegar in newly used pan and put on fire until boils,to prevent sticking food.
*when salt exceeds the require amount, put one potato therein.
*to avoid flying splash add little salt on pan.
* to soften boiled meat add teaspoon salt to cooking pan.
*when boiling egg put into pan. if sinks to bottom it means it is good.if any should float it means it is bad.
*put banana into foil and insert to refrigerator, so that it may not become black.

KooL! Thanks! I can use all the cooking tips I can get..
- Oh, here's one (I do know one afterall!) a drop of oil, margarine or some cooking spray in water will prevent it from boiling over when cooking noodles, potatoes, what not..
- and one more, run a peeled onion under cold water before slicing to reduce the tearing of the eyes..
- here's a cleaning one.. If soaking a pan, there's no need to fill it with water, just a little water, with a good cover will soak the whole pan (it's science!) - But if the pan has had something burned in it, put water in and put it over low cooking heat until the burnt on softens.. (I used to throw the pan away.)
I especially like the pointer about bananas! They go bad so quickly some times, it's good to know!

I love cooking tips. These are great but I am not sure about why to put the garlic into warm water for 5 min before peeling. Is it to do with the peeling; or something to do with eating or cooking it that is important in that tp? Thanks

Hi pinay,
Thanks for the cool tips. Some of these I was aware of but the banana trick, I did not know. I eat a lot of bananas, but sometimes I'm not in the mood for a whole one. This could be helpful to me.
Happy posting..

These are some great cooking tips pinay!
I use my small Magic Bullet blender to cut up garlic and onion so my eyes don't water and my hands don't stink like garlic.
And about the bananas. You should let the bananas ripen (all yellow with a couple brown spots on skin) before putting them in the fridge. The skin may turn brown but the banana will stay ripe and will not over rippen. I heard somewhere that putting bananas in the fridge can cause the skin to become toxic and can be bad for you to eat the banana, but I don't know if that is true or not. I always hang my bananas on a banana hook. It prevents the bottom of the banana from bruising. This fruit emits a lot of gas which speeds up the ripening process of other fruits around it, so it should not be kept in a bowl with other fruits.
