Growing up I can remember that everyone had brown eyes mostly. Then my little sister was born and she had blue eyes. After that I met more of my moms side of the family and some of them had blue eyes. Now I have kids and both have blue eyes and my granddaughter has blue eyes, plus my sisters kids have blue eyes. My brothers kids have brown eyes. Even so, now the blue-eyed people outnumber the brown eyed.
How about your family?

Geneitics are a funny thing. When I was taking a class in college I had to do an eye color taste test. there seems to be a chemical that you can or cannot taste because of genes.
My dad had blue eyes, my mom has this muddy green color that I suspect might be called hazel.
My bro & I have mom's eyes & my sister's were blue like dads - well until she hit her late 30's anyway.
So I tried the scrap of paper with the chemical on it at school - YUK!!!!
I take it home to mom, she wants to wait until she finishs her apple, I tell her to save some of the apple. She tried the paper, spit it out & was glad I suggested she save some of the apple. Then my brother came home & was eatting a tamale. I asked him to try the chemical. When he wanted to wait, mom suggested he try it, he'd taste it if he was going to.
After that my sister came home, she was drinking a little water & took it chewed up the paper & asked what I was looking for? didn't taste it at all!
When dad came home he didn't taste it either. There is NO doubt that my sister is my father's child!

No...some have blue, some have green and some have brown/black eyes. I would guess most hispanic families have all dark eyes as I grew up in Northern New Mexico and almost all the hispanic people have dark eyes. Most of my family is Caucasian and happen to have variety.

No, as a matter of fact everyone in my family has a different eye color..some are only slight differences though. My mom, my sister and myself have green eyes but of different shades, my oldest sister has very dark brown eyes and my father has blue eyes. It's a bit of a mystery as to where she got the brown eyes when my mom has light green eyes and dads eyes are blue....HMMM...hehe.

I remember learning in school that a certain eye-color was dominant, but I don't remember what it was now. We had to mark on these square charts and stuff... Eh, that was EONS ago, I have no clue any more...
But, I am the only one in my family with brown eyes. My dad had hazel eyes, my mom, 2 sisters and 2 bothers all had blue eyes. I am also the only one with reddish hair, everyone else was blonde or brown hair.
Now, my kids have brown eyes (um... I think they both do anyways... If not, then the one is hazel). Their father has hazel eyes. And one has my hair (the one whose eyes I can't seem to remember the color of... I'll have to e-mail him tonight and ask him...)

Oh my, you'll have to admit to him you aren't sure. You'll be asking for it! LOL
I think blue eyes are dominant. Also hazel eyes can have some green, some, grey, some blue, and some brown to them. So I would think hazel eyes would be dominant but no, I am told blue eyes are dominant. Being true blue that does not change color. I have always wanted green eyes. My oldest daughter got grey contacts once just for fun and wow, I thought he looked creepy. Becasue as a young child she had more of a grey eye color when she was sick.

My father had eyes that are between hazel and brown, my mother had blue eyes, I have blue eyes with a touch of green and if you look deep enough brown (well from both parents) and my brother has blue eyes with some green that makes it look sort of turquoise. My adopted sons both have blue eyes, and my granddaughter has blue eyes. It does happen. Blue eyes seem to dominate in my family and they must have gotten rid of the browns.

Now that you think of it, my entire family has blue eyes. I don't just mean my parents, my sister, and me, but also my mom's parents and brother. In addition, my dad, his parents, and all his brothers and sisters have blue eyes. Of course my cousins have different eye colors because they share in the side of the family not related to us, but more than likely, the majority of each side has blue eyes.

Four in the family right now and noone has the same eye colour LOL Hubby has brown, I have grey, oldest daughter has blue and youngest has green. My sister has the darkest brown eyes I've ever seen, my mother brown and my father green. I was told that both of my grandfathers had grey eyes which is where I get it from. Blue is the dominant colour in genes.

Wow, that makes for a really colorful family photo. I think a photo showcasing the faces, eyes, would be really beautiful. I am told grey eyes are a form of hazel eyes, as is green. My oldest dughter had a more of a grey color to her eyes (blue) when she was very young but only if she was ill.
