What is wrong with practising Wicca or pagan religions?

I have seen a few posts on here referring to wicca, etc and how some people think it is wrong. I for one do not follow ANY religion, but if I were to choose one to follow it would be pagan or wiccan based. I dont know much about it but my understanding is instead of worshiping god or jesus, wiccans worship the Earth and nature. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT??? At least it si right there in front of you and you can see, feel and expereince nature where as I, and Im sure lots of people, have not seen the god that is depicted in Christain religions. I have never met a wiccan who sacrifices babies or animals. Maybe Satanists do this or jsut plain crazy people, but not Wiccans. It's very confusing to hear people knocking a belief system that involves loving and caring and worshipping the Earth! We should all be doing that....after all, our world is falling apart around us...war, global warming, pollution, etc...maybe if we geared our thoughts and worships to our actaul surroundings, we can save this planet before it falls apart and our children and grand children have no planet to live on!! The earth is our home and we need to take care of it and love it...so again, please, people who see something wrong with wicca and related beliefs, tell me why you feel it is not right?

I do not understand why someone would want to worship animals, trees, nature, and not worship the true God who is a spirit and the only time HE came to Earth was to be born a mortal,Jesus and yet had the divine nature in HIM. It seems that people who are Wiccans feel well, my ancestors were Irish and they had the second site, and they want to go back to their roots. They want to make their own decision as to what is right or wrong, so they join a belief where it is okay to stand around trees that firemen want to cut down to prevent a fire from spreading.
Besides, I cannot see how it is better to follow a man made religion and for you to decide what is right or wrong. Why not worship the one true God instead of worshiping a creature and giving more importance and reverence to the animals and the world instead of to God?

I debated whether or not it is was worth my time to reply to your ridiculous post. But I have a few things I need to clear up. Not once did I try to persuade you to believe in something other than what you believe in....SO WHAT GIVES YOU THE RIGHT TO TELL ME WHAT I SHOULD BELIEVE IN????? Secondly, Wiccan and Pagan believes are not just about worshiping animals and plants, etc as you say. It's about respecting the planet and our surroundings that we can actually see....I can see the earth. I can see the animals. I can see the plants. I love this planet and its creatures and I want to help save it because its dying because we are destroying it. Not once when I have gone to church in my younger days was anything mentioned about saving the planet or respecting nature....no of course not....we are told to worship Jesus and God, and kneel down and pray while the F****ing planet falls apart!!! I am sticking with respecting and worshiping something I can see. I can't see god or Jesus and they do nothing for me. I do for myself. I depend on myself, not a god, to get through my life. My life is much more enjoyable when I am helping the earth and actively doing something productive instead of sitting a church pew, listening to a sermon that doesn't reflect the age we live in, reading a book which I believe to be nothing more than a short story written for entertainment...go ahead and believe whatever you want, but don't tell me what I should believe in or tell me what I believe in is not right or you will get another earful like this...

I am Pagan and I agree with you. The problem with society today is that they are not educated on the diffrence in Paganism/Wicca and Satinism. If people would take the time to learn a little something about the diffrent religions out there then I feel that there wouldent be any more bashing at all but that everyone would be making there opnions based on education and not rumors.

I don't really have a religion, but I am definelty interested in Wicca, mainly because I have read a little about it, with Nature and that it is not a bad religion. I have a friend who is into wicca as well. I am also interested in Agnostic.
