I doubt that the kids and I will be able to make it up to their grammas funeral on Monday but we definately want to have flowers sent to the service and I'd like to send some to the house...Problem is, I REALLY SUCK at doing this sort of thing....When the kids dad died i had such a hard time picking out flowers for him from me (the kids picked their own) and that was goin into the store...This time I have to do it online and all the arrangements look the same to me even though I know they arent of course...I'm having a very hard time with this...I need to pick out arrangements from the kids and also one from my husband and I and I'd like to send Poppa a special small arrangement from me to the house (the others will be goin to the funeral service)..
Any suggestions on what to send? Would it be okay to pick an arrangement thats NOT in the "sympathy" section so long as i made sure there wasnt an inappropriate card (like "Congradulations on your Promotion" or "Its a Boy" etc)..will places like FTD or 1-800-Flowers pay attention to requests like that (changing the card out from an arrangement) do you know? Have any of you dealt with FTD or 1-800-flowers? What was your experience are they reliable?
Sorry for all the questions..I'm a little stressed at the moment...any help would be great, all replies will be rated

I would pick up whatever you think the people would love. Bear in mind that they are grieving and are not really paying much attention to the arrangement...only that you cared to send something. it is your thoughts that they will remember. I usually ask the florist to pick something nice and then attach a nice note with it. I a go with a local florist. They deal with this sort of thing regularly and have good taste. I have never had a problem. I usually ask for a plant rather than flowers as the family gets so many flowers all of which are beautiful but quickly die. A beautiful plant arrangement can be kept for long after.

sorry for your loss..it is always hard to pick out flowers.. but this is what i do i just tell the florist that i would like a nice arrangement of carnations, lily, and maybe a few roses..let them know that it is for your gramma and they will make it very nice.. i just pick out the flowers that i like and go with that.. as for the one to the house any kind of arrange ment would be nice at this point i dont think that he will mind what kind they are.. it is always the thought and gesture that matters right now... good luck in picking something out,and remember anything you pick out will be just fine... again i am sorry for your loss..
