My son's friend gave him a lizard last week. My son says it's a Geico. Yes, a Geico. You have to read my adoption story on my website that is connected to my profile to get why he doesn't get it. Anyway, this lizard is about 7 or 8 inches long, about an inch and a half around and he is yellow with black spots. I need to know so that I can look him up and find out how to take care of him. I caught some crickets yesterday and he seemed to enjoy them :-) but, what else do I need to do. Please help. My son's friend doesn't know what kind of lizard it is either.

You might want to look and see if the is a herptological society in your area. This is a group that LOVES lizards and would be able to help you identify what type of lizard it is and what type of care it will need. Most lizards do love crickets, but the crickets should be dusted with a calcium powder that you can get from the pet store. Lizards to not get much calcium in captivity unless is is provided as a supplement. A lack of calcium in a lizard's diet can lead to some sever bone problems.

hmmm...i am not sure how to take care of it because here in our country, it just thrives outdoors. i guess you will have to have a terrarium that is quite big with plants in it and then feed it regularly with insects. but if you have a greenhouse, it will be happy there. :-)
