Which payment account service do you have? Paypal or Moneybookers?

I am wondering because I am about to receive my first mylot earnings and I don't know which one will work best for me. I believe we can have the option of using Paypal or Moneybookers. How did you choose yours? Have you received payout already? I am from the Philippines and I have heard that Paypal gets a US $5 service fee here in my country. Does Moneybooker gets the same amount also? Please share your experiences. I would really like to know what the best options are. And would anyone suggest that the best option would be not withdraw at all and just use the money for online shopping? I hope to hear from you. Thanks in advance(=

I have a PayPal account and a Moneybookers account. I've had both of them for years and have never had any problems with Moneybookers. Now PayPal - that's a different matter!! Actually I prefer Moneybookers because the company is easier to deal with and their charges are not as high as PayPal. There again they are a British company and I'm in the UK so it might be different for someone who lives in another country.
Of course to avoid fees the best option is not to withdraw and just use for online spending but then I guess you are restricted to what you can spend your money on. For that purpose I would say PayPal is the best option because more sites accept is as payment. A lot of sites do accept Moneybookers now but they tend to be mostly gaming sites, etc.

Okay, your comparison between the two is noted. I'll give the benefit of the doubt since you have mentioned that you are in U.K. and moneybookers is a British company. Thank you for the honest advice regarding on which one is best for online spending. I have heard from others, too that Paypal would be a better option for this purpose (online shopping).

I don't think that paypal is allowed here in the Philippines yet, since mylot has provided us moneybookers.
You have to register first on moneybookers, then wait for a mail that they'll sent for you to verify your mailing address. There, you'll receive also a four-digit code to use on your moneybookers account for it to be validated. Also, don't forget your bank's Swift Code, that is the most important thing.
Money bookers charges atleast two dollars, as you also have to wait for atleast two weeks to receive your payment they'll send on your bank account. The next payment will then be at around a week for you to receive, the key is patience as it wil take long since it's your first time to receive payment!;)
If ever you have more questions, just PM so I could provide you more help!;)

I would just like to add that mylot did respond to my query and confirmed that paypal has indeed already opened its services to our country. And that I am free to choose between moneybookers and paypal.

PayPal seems to be the way to go. They are well known and they offer shopping or you can withdraw. I've been a member of paypal for over a year and handle all my online money issues through them since I can't keep track of it online. Its like an online account, another bank. I can hold the money I make in there and shop or send it to my savings account.

Oh, very interesting. That's a nice idea there when you said you keep paypal as another bank account. Thanks for sharing your experience with this account service.

I use paypal. I have a premeir account which means I can accept any kind of paypal payment including credit card. Downside is paypal takes a fee each time you receive money.

Yes, I have heard. But I think both charge fees, anyway. I just do not know if they both charge the same amount.

I am using Paypal to receive the payment from mylot and other paying site on the internet. I had been paypal member since 2003 and it's like 4 years already. I opened the account when I was in US, on a company relocation trip. So, I own an US bank account and the social security number, so I am able to choose for the money market investment. Therefore, I got about 5% monthly interest for whatever fund I have in my Paypal account. Until I am still using personal account, so that I receive my 100% payment without being charged. I had been thinking of starting online business few years back, by making use of the Paypal online credit card receiving method, but due to lack of time and effort to be put in, I didn't start any business in the end. But I still keep this account so that I could continue to receive payment from Mylot LoL. I did use Paypal for online shopping once or twice. To be exact, it's just to pay the online service that I got. It's quite convenient and safe. Regarding the $5 bonus. Paypal pay it when it was still very new few years back. I had fulfilled all the requirements and got it. Besides, if you successfully refer other people to become member (with proper registration ofcoz) then you will get $5 for each member you refer. But unfortunately, all of my friends didn't want to join, because they doubt the security of thie e-money service provider.

That's right. I feel lucky too to own an US bank account and able to deposit/withdraw money to/fro the bank free of charge. It's because of my exploring nature as well, because I was looking for options when I was on company assignment over there. Then I found out that Paypal is really a very convenient way of transfering money online/worldwide and it's also excellent in shopping online. By then, I start using until now. By the way, I am not actually pro paypal. Just that I am familiar with it. I totally have no idea how Moneybookers service looks like. Since you still have some time for your first Mylot payout, you can think about it LoL.

Yes, it was the right decision for you to open a paypal account because most of its features and privileges work for you. I also have heard that it is reliable and is usually the account used in online activities. That is good to hear about your exploring nature. With that, you will learn a lot of things. Always appreciate your reply, thanks.

Hi Silvana(= Thanks for letting me know that you have no problem at all using your paypal account. I only read in some discussions that they give out charges like that amount in my country and other Asian countries as well. I have read that others would like the option of accumulating their earnings to some higher amount and then the service charge would still be the same. Others preferred using their money to shop online instead. So, I'm still thinking what the best option is for me now.

I use paypal for me. As far as the best option, I guess it would depend on what you do with your money. Me, my plan will be to let it build up and see how high it goes and then put some in my bank and go from there. I don't know about fees in other countries so I can't confirm or deny that. For me, there was no fee at all. Then again, I just got a personal account.

You do have a great point. I'm also thinking the same way, to let my earnings build up as high as possible and only withdraw or use when only needed. That is one option for me. I think, even having a personal account, they still charge for some amount here in my country. I appreciate your sharing your views and experiences.

Greetings friend...
My hubby and I only use Paypal and we have been very satisfied with their service. We just signed up under the basic service rather than the business one because there are a lot of additional charges.
We have not had any service fee and we are in Canada. They payout according to the exchange between our two countries. Now that our dollar is higher than the American I have noticed a little increase.
I cannot comment on Moneybrookers...but in my view Paypal is a safe bet and I've received my payouts consistently...and on time for the 3 payouts I have received since becoming a member here.
Good luck with whatever you choose...and thanks for the lovely e-mail. I do hope you received mine back. Let me know if you didn't...I'll resend it.
Take care...good chatting..

Hi my friend(=
Thanks for letting me know your good experiences with Paypal and so many others on here seem to thinks so, too. I guess, Paypal is reliable with their service. I am just not sure how much they do charge for service fee when withdrawing the money earned from mylot. It depends, I guess with the country we are at. I don't really know if it's true that they charge US$5 for withdrawing here in the Philippines. I think that would be high, considering our minimum earning amount is $10. So, I guess I'll need to check out both services and wait for mylot to answer for my other queries.
I did receive your e-mail! Thank you. And I have received your lovely photos. I have already sent you again my photos which you told me you were not able to receive. I have attached them to my messages to you. Please inform me, if you did not receive them and I will try again. Thanks.
Take care and hugs to you..

Hi there(=
I haven't received a response from mylot yet, and I don't know if they have any idea on the charges moneybookers or paypal take with each country or area. I haven't decided yet and I guess am not in a lot of hurry, I could wait til next payout. I think moneybookers is a better choice for my country for I heard that they only charge not more than $2.
I thinl the last time I tried it was Yahoo's fault, not too sure, or maybe my internet provider. It's easier to send when there isn't any message cuz I'll just attach the photos but when I have to rewrite, hmm, will take me some more time..I don't think you can copy paste in composing a letter in yahoo.

Always happy to share. Have you decided out what one you are going to use yet? It is getting closer to payout and I sure hope they don't ding you half of what you have worked hard to earn.
I have not received the photos yet...but maybe hold back on sending them until David has a chance to figure out why some messages I am receiving are going into junk mail. I mentioned on another post that I am setting up photos in photobucket and it might be something you want to look into. It is a free site to post photos and you can do some fun and creative things with it that I am looking into. I am hoping to set it up with some videos eventually and then give the link to valued friends who can check it out too.
So here I am again...I do get back to friends sites eventually, but it is becoming more challenging to keep all my writing and creative projects in the air. However, I love all of it and Mylot and the friends here always pulls me back...and now we have another way of keeping in touch I feel happier. We can still contact each other any time..even when we are not here.
So good luck in setting your account concerns...hope it works out with the highest earnings for you...you deserve them. You give a lot of yourself to this site and are a good member...and friend.

Thanks for sharing your experience with paypal. I gather paypal is really reliable and is usually the account used online. However, I think other concerns I have such as service charges differ in each country so, anyway I do appreciate your giving me your own experience.

Hi there, cnetboss. Thank you for sharing with me your knowledge about these payment options. I do however have more questions. With regards to the matter of service charges, I would like to know which of the two charges less, if by any chance you would know. I have heard that for moneybookers they charge about two dollars per transaction while paypal charges five. I really do not know if these informations are true. Would you, by any chance know? Thanks again. I appreciate your inputs.

Hi mialei. I see you are from the Philippines as well. And you have just signed up here in mylot so I assume you have no experience yet withdrawing from paypal? Correct me if I'm wrong. Well, paypal has just recently opened its services to our country, so I guess not many Filipinos have much experience with paypal. We still could use moneybookers as well, though. So I'm still deciding which of the two to use.

Hmmm. I wonder why you are not sure about the service fee in your area as what you have said that you use paypal for all your account transactions.
