My daughter gave me a scare

This has been one of the most horrifying moments in my life in recent years. With winter just round the corner, me and my friends make it a point to take our toddlers down in the garden of out apartment complex so that they can get a little sunlight and play out in the open. while the kids were playing yesterday, 2 of us went to check the mail box just round the corner and one mom watched the 3 kids play. When i returned in 2 minutes, the other mom asks me where's your baby, i thought she followed you ! I have never been more scared in my life, i dropped all the mail and ran like crazy in all directions screaming my baby's name. All those playing there also started looking for her. We found her in less than 5 minutes as she had simply climbed the stairs of the apartment next to where she was playing. But those 5 minutes passed like a lifetime, I was half dead and one more minute and i would have called the police. I hope I never go through something like this again, I am making sure I stick to her and she sticks to me !! for as long as it takes.

Next time I think you'll be extremely careful before youleave for whatsoever the reason be and still this kind of things happen with toddlers even after taking enough care of them and even I experienced the same kind of a thing some time back.

OH my...I'm sure every mother has experiences this. It happened to me as well. But it was at a Beach Park and it was my own mother who I asked to watch my children. I had finished my 2nd sons 1st birthday party. My husband was helping the men clean up and everything. I needed to use the Bathroom so I asked my mom to watch the kids. (apparently she only though Kids meant the 1 child since she watched my other son walk away towards his father who was walking to the PARKING LOT to put the tent in the car.)
well, when I came back I asked her what happened to my son and she said I don't know. So everyone there is frantically looking for him. I'm almost crying and we realize that he isn't wearing his slippers either, so he's walking around a beach park by himself bare foot. 10min later we find him in one of those bouncy houses that another parent had rented for their child's party. They saw my son wonder in there and noticed he was by himself so he kept an eye on him and made sure he didn't leave the bounce house. I was so thankful since all I could think of is my son falling on some rocks or drowning or getting taken by someone. Well, I don't really trust my mother will my kids in open places anymore. But I so know how you feel.

Oh wow. I would have also freaked out given that kind of experience. Thankfully, you have found her in no time. I would agree that would be a total scare. Some kids can be really unruly and they might lose their path. I always watch my kid, she's still barely two years old and she is a hyper kid, always running around. My first priority when I am out and I have my baby with me, is to watch her and protect her even when there are extrnal factors that require my full attention.

Boy do I know how you feel. We were at a small amusement park this past summer and my daughter did that to us. There was 8 adults and 3 kids. I fed our two and was cleaning up the table while the rest of the adults were just standing around. I was walking back from the garbage can when I realized that our 2 year old wasn't with the others. I asked "where's hailey" all the adults just looked at me with this dumb look on their face. apparently everyone thought someone else was watching the kids. We all ran in different directions from the pavillion and found her in just a few minutes heading down the ramp to go back to the rides. Its such a scary feeling no to know where your child is. Let me just say that we went right out and bought one of those cute little monkey backpack leash things for her. Better safe then sorry.
