I just got an email telling me how the IRS is using their power to censor and effectively shut down churches that speak out against abortion, homosexuality, etc. They are even taking away the tax exempt status of churches that disagree with the homosexual and pro-abortion communities.
The real issue here is when are they going to find something you believe in contrary to them and start trying to take away your freedom of speech? You may not have a problem with abortion or homosexuality but one of these days, the same activists going after the freedom of speech of those of us who disagree with abortion and homosexuality are going to find something that you believe in and take away your freedom.
What I really have an issue with is that people who disagree with us are trying their best to force us to agree with them. Get real! You cannot force someone to believe something by changing laws and throwing them in jail. It's been tried for centuries in other countries and it never works and it won't work here.
I, for one, will never stop speaking out. They can shut down a church but they can't force me to agree with them and I will not shut up! They can put me in a jail cell but I will not stop speaking up for what the Bible says regardless of what anyone attempts to do to me and any real Christian should have the same attitude.
If we don't stand up for Jesus and what He taught, He will not stand up for us before God. I'd rather make God happy and not worry about what those in this world think because the rest of the world cannot control eternity and God does.

No, the email is not bogus. it's from Jay Sekulow, the head attorney of the American Center for Law & Justice. He's won numerous Supreme Court cases defending the rights of Christians. This is really happening throughout our country and if Christians don't speak up and fight back in court and through their votes, we are going to lose more and more rights to free speech. Of course, the Bible said all of this would happen so it really shouldn't be much of a surprise to those who read the Bible thoroughly.

IN your response to me you said " you will find out the hard way if continue the way you are". Explain please. The way I am...you speak as if I am a criminal or doing something wrong. I live the way I am supposed to. If there is s god and a heaven, when I die, that god will judge accordingly and fairly. He will see that I have done nothing but good on this Earth and I have been a good person. If he is not fair, than I dont want to be in the presence of a god like that. The reason I hate religion right now is because it condemns people who are doing nothing wrong!! Focus on the murderers and bad people. If your American Focus on your president, who claims to be Christian, and is murdering thousnads, perhaps millions of people in another country and sending his own people there to be killed!! I ask you and would like a response seeing as how every time I ask religious people questions they dodge and dance around it and cant give me a straight answer (becuase I have tried to follow the bible, etc, but I find it all hard to understand, so I ask questions) The 2 questions are
1. are you telling me that if a man rapes a girl and she becomes pregnant, it is a sin for her to have an abortion, so she has to suffer the rest of her life for what this man did to her??
2. why is it wrong for two people (homosexuals) to be in love.

I think they're taking away the tax exempt status of all organizations that claim to be religious in nature but are actually fronts for political rallies etc.

No, they are specifically going after pastors and churches that speak out against homosexuality and abortion. They will find that we don't shut up, though.
My feeling is that it's time to put an end to the IRS and create an organization with some checks and balances.

Are these pastors and churches JUST speaking out about abortion and homosexuality or are they vocally endorsing and actively encouraging support of specific political candidates.
If the IRS is targeting pastors and churches that are only denouncing these issues because of their religious convictions then you are correct--it is wrong.

Well, we all have our rights to speak and to believe in what we think is right. And those people have rights too... If they choose to abort or to be homosexual then they have the right to do that. For some, there is nothing wrong with that. I believe that we are not in the position to judge them. Personally I am against abortion but I speak for myself.

I didn't say that they don't have the right to do as they please. I said they don't have a right to take my freedom of speech away when I believe what they are doing is wrong. They are entitled to their perspective and the right to speak about it and I'm entitled to mine and I have every intention of continuing to speak out about it. If they don't like it, tough nuggies!

I have heard of this and it does not surprise me as the Bible has already promised that all of this will take place. This is just a sign of the times. If this has gotten you shaken, you should read the word to see what comes next. That will really knock your socks off.
