Drive through or walk up.

When you go to the bank or fast food places do you still walk up to the store and get what you need or do you basically use the drive up? I walk inside the bank but often use drive ups for fast food places. If the drive through line is full I walk up then. What do you do?

That sounds like what we do. For some reason the bank drive thru window is annoying while the fast food one just seems normal. We will use the drive thru ATM though. The ATMs you have to walk up to don't seem right either lol...yes we must be quirky!

hello, jillhill. I always walk up when the destination is not far away. The modern people have lacked exercise alreay, it is a pity not to take any advantage to do some exercise. There are many chances in our daily life that can help us do sports, such as walking up instead of driving up, climbing the stairs instead of using the elevator and so on. Health is the most important thing to each other, cherish it as much as possible and one will regret when there is something wrong with its health. Wish everyone good health!

My thoughts too! I walk anywhere I can for the exercise. I think standing at an ATM is invitig trouble. Only time I drive through fast food is if I am on my way home or in a hurry

I do both. Depends on the length of the line in the drive up as to whether I go inside or not. Most often I go inside to do both banking and order food. If a mistake is made in either case, can find it immediately and take care of it on the spot. Takes too much time when getting the wrong food order and eventually have to go inside anyway to get it straightened out!

Its all according how much time I have. If Im in a hurry I will walk in the bank because I think its quicker. And the same with the fast foods. But I rarely eat fast food.LOL

I usually walk into the bank and use the ATM machine. My husband will drive up if he does not have to go into the credit union. When we want to eat at a fast food restaurant, we do not want to get food stuff all over the car seat and besides it is hard to drive with a hamburger in one hand, so we usually eat in the restaurant. Usually when we want to order something to eat at home, we usually phone in the order.

Good idea...I only order pizza...to be delivered. We don't have much that delivers in our town.

Dear Jillhill, I am a sugar patient. People are telling that by walking is good for my health. So whenever I have to go any places within 2 miles I used to walk. Last week in one day I walked more than 18 miles on different purposes. I had leg pain in the whole night. Generally I prefer to do cycling but in our city, cycle is easy prey for robbers. I lost 3 new cycles. However, I am going to purchase on sport cycle very soon. I love cycling.

I prefer the drive through. It just makes things that much easier especially when Im busy or in a hurry. My husband also likes drive throughs. He HATES wating in the bank in a line. He would rather sit in a line and wait in his car.

I almost always use the drive thru for both the bank and fast food places. Sometimes at the bank I have to get out because certain business can't be done in the drive thru, but I prefer to just get in line. The lines at my bank are never long, but sometimes the fast food lines are so busy I just leave. I don't even try to go inside. : )

Yes....sometimes the lines are wrapped around the building almost...I leave too then...it's not that I don't have patience but I can go somewhere else too.

I always do my banking inside. But it all depends on my schedule if I go in and eat or drive thru.If I am not in a rush, I will eat in. But if I need to get home to see something, I will drive thru.

It depends upon the situation and the mode of transport that I am in. when I am using my car, I usually use the drive through lanes for fast food places. when I go to the bank I walk inside and do my transactions. I do not use the teller machines to do deposits. but with withdrawals I use the teller machines. but I think if you are not in a hurry it is better to dine inside the fast food restaurant. however, there are days when you are eating alone and you are in a hurry that you want to use the drive through lanes. there are times when you want to eat slowly inside the restaurant.

I usually use the drive through for food and banking whenever possible. It is just so much more convienent for me. However, if the drive through line is really long and the inside lines don't look so bad I go in and get what I have to get. I try and do whatever is going to take me less time really.

I do go through the drive up lanes occasionally. I like going into the bank because I know the people who work there and if they aren't really busy we can chat for a minute. Sometimes if I have to wait in line there are usually people from the community I know and we us the time to catch up. As far as the fast food resturants, well I usually go in because the service is faster. I have set in my car in a drive through line that takes for ever. The other reason is to check my order. Especially if I am getting it to go. You know what Joe Pesi says about drive throughs in "Lethal Weapon" and he is so right. I hate it when I get it to go and get home and they have left out things or given me the wrong order all together. We live 8 miles from town and going back is just not worth it.

I think I would do the same. I have gotten home and they have forgotten something. I go inside to visit too. It's funny when you live in a community for a while you do get to know so many. Thanks for posting.

Me too - drive up for fast food, walk in for banks. Don't even use ATMS. I remember years ago - 1983 when ATM's first came out. We were traveling so we got with Bank of America as they had locations throughout California. Man, nver forget that. My husband used the ATM up in Pismo Beach and BofA lost the money somehow. All I know is we went to use it and it wasn't there. Thanks God for Receipts!!!! They hadn't a clue as to where the money went, but since we had the receipt, they had to give us our money back. We went back to cash and tellers!

Right. I haven't used an Atm ever..but I see people outside my bank driving up to use them. I like the personal touch like you! LOL
