I have a long straight black hair. My friend told me to cut it and make something fashion with it. Cut with style. And i saw some girls who have a nice styling hair. Its nice and they are pretty with it. I feel something different and to make over myself. What do you think? To cut it or not?

Hi ciades.Give me some!!Hahaha. It all depends how long your hair is.Mabe a cut that goes along your shoulder line would be perfect for you with layered sides on the front, like feathery or a one length stlye like a bob.Do you have thin hair or thick?I wouldnt cut it short if i had thick hair,it would be too much time and too hard to style. If you want to see what youd look like, just take your hair and hold it together behind your head at the nape of your neck and hold it up behind your head. You will see what length suits your face frame.Remember it all depends on the texture of your hair and face frame for a good style to suit you.Never go by what styles others have, because their hair is different than yours.Did i tell you that i have a hairdressing degree??Hehehe.

Hello ciades,
How long you have been keeping long hair? Maybe you should try something new, something more stylish than you ever think of? I had a very long hair last time and when I was in my late 20's, I decided to cut it short and make a different hairstyle for myself ( I want to know whether I look good with short hair or not *laughs*) Till now, I keep my hair above my shoulder-length. It is easier for me since I have a small baby to take care of and my husband doesn't say anything about my short hair too.

It's totally a personal choice. There's styles that you can do with both long hair and short hair, you don't have to have short hair to style it. I had long hair for the longest time and hated it. It was too much to take care of it. Now, I keep it short or medium-length, always cutting it in the summer to stay cool.
Depending on how long your hair is, cutting it can be a big decision. However, hair grows back, it can just take some time. If you're wanting to cut it for styling reasons, be sure that there's a style you want first. Also, again if it's only for styling issues, check out some styles for longer hair as well.

That is up to you my dear. Whatever you feel is best for you to do. If you feel it is time for a change, why not? If you don't like it, your hair will grow back and you can just try something else until you find what you are looking for. Just have fun with it!

Hello again ciades. I think that your own interest in the the hairstyle of yours is more important than what others think about. I mean, if you feel comfortable with your long straight hair.
I love my wife with long and straight hair and she has always been like that. Last week, I said jokingly that she could have her hair cut short if she wanted to change her hairstyle, but she is now used to long straight hair and it is fine as I love to see my lady that way. hehe

Its your choice to cut it or not. If I were you I would not cut the hair. After all it takes a long time for the hair to reach that long again. You could always style it differently.

Well, I like long hair, but my friends alway tell me to cut it because then I will look my age - not like a kid... I did cut it a couple years ago - I donated my hair to Locks of Love for children with cancer. I'm growing it long again so I can donate more in the spring. This will probably be the last time I can donate because I am getting some gray hair, and since the hair is for kids wigs they don't take gray. I don't know if you have a Locks of Love program there, but you can check it out and donate your hair if you get it cut.

It's your hair, it sounds like you're curious, but unsure. When I went to get my hair cut, my hairdresser used a virtual or computer-generated hair style program. She scanned in my face and I got to try out different hair styles and colors. I ended up with a cranberry colored page boy. It was awesome! It came out way better than the picture showed and I had a great time with that style. But coloring my hair was too much work/bother. I've had that style many times now and I love it. I go longer in winter and shorter in summer. So try a computer generated make over first and see what styles will look cool on you.

It has to be your choice whether or not you want to cut your hair. No one can decide that for you. However IF you do decide to cut it please please check this site out for kids with cancer. You could donate your hair to this organization. I had long hair once and cut it all off but I didn't know about this organization till it was too late so I'm growing it back out once again so I CAN donate it. Here's the link:
http://www.clf4kids.org/donate_hair.html
Go to the programs tab, then to Hugs U Wear. The rest is self explainatory so go check it out. What a way to help kids!!
Just like the others have said, if you don't like it, you can ALWAYS grow it back. When I cut my hair again, it's going back into a bob for I love it!
Good Luck!

I had long, straight black hair, too. And I recently had it cut into a bob. It's been fun. I like the feel of it, and it's so different for me.
I would cut it, if I were you. If you don't like it, you can always grow it out again.

When I was a young person I would never have my hair short. It was my identity. When I got a lot older I realized that I am my identity, and if I got my hair cut, it would grow back. I am in that stage right now, growing back. I have had it cut to shoulder length, and I have had it cut very short, about 1.5 inches on top, and I had a lot of fun with it. The last two times I had my hair cut it was to remove all the dye from it. I was tired of coloring my hair. Now I have dark hair with white and grey streaks that is not quite to my shoulders. To me this is the most difficult length, but I know that my hair is growing. Personally, cutting my hair actually gave me some freedom, people quit viewing me as just the person who wore my gorgeous hair. I liked that feeling.

My hair was so long that I sat on it for over 30 years. I finally had it cut 2 years ago. It really didn't change much except that it dries faster. I still keep it straight, so its just a round brush and a blow dryer... but my arms don't get as tired! I figure that if I decide I don't like this, I can just let it grow again, but at least now I know what shoulder-length feels like.
