is senior players required for the current indian cricket team?

In the past few tournaments including the world cup, the involvement of the three big players(sachin, sourav, dravid) is found to be very mean. Is that all we expect from such an experienced players? why aren't they ready to take the responsiblity? are they more concentrating on playing the gaming rather than helpin the team to win the game? Why aren't they not feeling their responsiblities? ppl are requested to comment on the above questions and post thier views.

i think we should have senior players in our team..
they are necessary to guide the team and boost the confidence of the younger players.....
seniors should teach them tactics to handle pressure situations and then they should act as an example for
younger players.......
they should act as pioneers for the younger players

the performance of seniour players has been really poor in the last few games.perhaps the ausies know how tackle them but they have to learn from their mistakes and improve constantly.there is always scope for improvement.but a team needs seniour players to guide their young players because they have the ability to take right decisions during the time of crysis.

i am against the ppl who are blaming the seniors..they are responsible for making theindian team famous internationaly...just bcos they didnt perform well in a couple of matches doesnt mean they are not fit for the team....just looking at their odi career graph ll mak the juniors hang ter head in shame....

hi navin.. i accept that the senior players have performed well in thier past. that doesn't mean that even if they don't perform, they are in need. This is all bcoz they don't participate in the match much. I didn't mean with there induvidual performance but they don't even consider to discuss with the bowlers or with the captain at the required situation. All they feel is that to play as much matches as possible to improve their own fans and career. India as of now requires players much of skills as well as team spirit.
