Sweaty Hands

Do your hands get sweaty easily? When I was in High School and we had to write down lots of notes given by our teacher, I found that my hand got sweaty easily, so every now and then I had to blow my hand dry he he he... A friend who sat next to me back then didn't like shaking or touching my sweaty hand, so sometimes I teased her by trying to take her hand with my sweaty hand HA HA HA HA HA...LOL LOL!!! Gladly my hubby doesn't mind that. We'd hold hands a lot, esp. when we watch movies together at home. As usual, every now and then I have to let go of his hand to blow my hand dry. How about you? Do you have sweaty hands? Has somebody ever told you that he/she doesn't like it? Do you find it annoying?

hi.. i never have this problem, thank God.. though my cousin and close friend are plagued with this problem, severely... even their feet sweat alot. i mean, it's like their hands and feet are literally dripping with water. more severely when they are facing stressful situations like an exam or interview. my cousin and friend would find themselves tearing up their exam paper coz of such problem or smudge it badly.

Hi, shiloh! Ohhhh...I'm sorry to hear about your cousin and close friend. It must've been annoying. Gladly for me it's not that severe. I hope there can be some cure for this kind of over-sweating.

i heard from them when they consulted doctors that it has something involved with their nervous system that triggers such sweating. my cousing would buy a super-drying deodorant, i forgot the brand name and swiped it on her hands. it's effective but rather expensive:-( my friend would wear pads in her shoes to absorb the sweating of her feet.

Ah...yeah...I once saw on TV a doctor injected someone with very active sweat glands...but I forgot what the injection was. All I remember is that she has to get injections every 3 months or something like that in order to prevent over-sweating. Super-dry deodorant swiped on her hands? That's pretty cool...yeah, too bad they're rather expensive. :-((( Your friend wear pads in her shoes? WOW!!! At least she's creative! ;-D

Hello ailema4ever. Yes, I do have sweaty hands. Actually I do have both sweaty hands and feet. Gross I know. I noticed that I had sweaty hands when I was in college. Whenever our professor told us to participate in class discussions or recitations, my hands sweat a lot and I mean a lot that they started to drip. Eeeww! I couldn't even hold a paper by not getting my hands all sweaty. You could even see drops of sweat on papers whenever I hold them. Yuck! I feel so embarrassed holding hands with my partner or friends touching my hands. My hands only gets all sweaty when I feel nervous. When it isn't sweaty its either dry. Thats why I usually bring a handerkerchief with me to wipe my sweaty palms. I even tried putting powder on my hands to get rid of the sweat. It doesn't really work but, that's the only way I know how to get rid of sweaty hands. I couldn't remember who told me that he/she doesn't like my sweaty hands. I do find it annoying thats why Im finding waysto getrid of it.

Hi, erica! Sorry to hear that. I know how annoying it can be. :-((( Well, I have sweaty hands, too, so I can't say it's gross 'coz it happens to me too he he he... I guess your case is more severe than me. I hope you can find ways to get rid of them. Too bad I can't help. All info I find in the internet includes Botox injection and surgery. Ouch!!!

Hello ailema4ever, I don't have problem with sweaty hands. Unfortunately, my husband doesn't like to hold hands in public *smiles* For him, intimate moments are only at home and no holding hands or trying to be lovey dovey in public. Very sad, huh?

Hello ailema4ever, We are like a royal couple where I walk at least two meters at the back but when we are at home, he is the most itchy man I ever know *laughs* Oppss...please not to let him knows that I say this words *laughs* Anyway, we are happy together and that is the most important fact for us. As long as your husband doesn't feel bad with your problem, why bother huh? Take care!

Hi, gr8life! Oohhhh...that's too bad about your husband's view on holding hands. My hubby and I also don't like to be too intimate in public, but we do enjoy holding hands in public places. Oh well, but as long as you have plenty of intimate moments at home, then you should be fine, right? ;-D It's better than looking like a great couple outside but then quarreling all the time at home he he he he...

wow. Are your hands really that sweaty that you have to blow it off? I'm not really a fan of bodily fluids so that kind of grosses me out. I hate sweating. it's just gross and it makes me feel all gross and...gross! I do not have sweaty hands. No one has every told me that I do and I'm glad. I probably wouldn't care if someone told me cause I'd probably hate it more than they would.

Yes, after writing vigorously or holding hands for a while, they get sweaty. That's why I have to blow them dry ha ha ha ha ha... Yeah, I understand what you mean. That's why my friend who sat next to me didn't want to have anything to do with my hand when it got sweaty. But when they're not working too vigorously (or not holding another's hand too long), then they're fine he he he...

ha ha. well i'm glad they only sweat when you work them hard! and not just all the time! That'd be super bad. and maybe a medical issue.
• Finland

Hi, raychill! Oh yeah, if they sweat all the time, then it is a medical issue. I saw it once on TV...a teenage girl who's constantly sweating even while doing nothing. That's really nuts indeed! She has to bring extra shirts to school.

...LOL!!! The only time my hands get sweaty are when my girlfriend trims the ends of my hair. She makes me stand up and wear the gown backwards, as my hair is about 35 inches long. ...vWhen I was very little, the first time I got my hair cut, the beautician snipped the bottom of my earlobe off. It did not hurt, as we have no nerve endings in our earlobes, but it bled a lot. I can still see the blood running down the front of the plastic gown tied around my neck. Over 40 years later and I still react the same. ...Funny thread. I hae enjoyed reading the responses. Peace be with you, gf! =(^;^)= Della

...The beautician was mortified. My mom was upset. It was such a tiny piece of flesh that was cut off, however, I bled a lot. For a first time experience, it has stayed with me. Everytime I go to get my hair cut, it is the same thing. ...As long as I can laugh at myself, it is ok. PBWY =(^;^)= Della

Yeah, I bet the beautician was mortified and no wonder your Mom was upset. Tsk tsk tsk...Yeah, you're SO right, della. As long as you can laugh at yourself, then you're fine. PBWY too!!!

Hi, della! WOW!!!! You've got such LONG hair!!! OUCH! It's SO crazy to have such an experience when you were just a little girl. :-(((( Must have been traumatic!!! I understand that your hands get sweaty 'coz of that particular experience. I can't imagine how the beautician reacted to that. She must've been mortified. THX for responding. Glad you enjoyed it he he he...Peace to you too, Buddy! ;-D

Yup, I have sweaty hands naturally. I can remember having them eversince gradeschool and I am quite embarassed with it at times. My family tease me at times about that, however, they also accept that part of me and just tell me to relax some more. But my friends assure me that it's just okay and accept me just the way I am too. Although there would be times when other people may find it icky holding my hands, say when shaking hands, that's when I get embarassed and apologize. However, I can remember our high school principal shaking all our hands as she gave out our diplomas and she too had sweaty hands. After all, there are so many of us who just have sweaty palms, so I guess it's just okay.:)

Hi, skimgurl! You have them, too, eh? I'm glad your family and friends accept that part of you and help you accept them. :-))) You're right, though...there are many people who have sweaty palms he he he he...we can't help it, can we? THX for sharing! :-D

Hi, skimgurl! Oh...so your dermatologist told you that, eh? Yeah, I thought I had heard something about botox. So it's around 16 USD, eh? Yeah, if you have to do it every month then it adds up!!! Yeah, it'd be practical to just have an injection if you're an important person and you have to be a speaker or something every now and then. Relaxation techniques? COOL!!! Yeah, that's true...the easiest way is to blow your hands dry ha ha ha ha ha...
29 Oct 07
Oh, and I remember talking to my dermatologist about this concern and she told there are powders and injections for this. Those botox injections used for facial wrinkles, those are the same treatment for too much sweat in the hands, feet or underarms. Injections can be done once a month at around 16 USD. It's not cheap. Although some clients she adds just ask for the injections whenever they need it like for a conference that they're going to be the speaker in or corporate gatherings and such.:) As for me, I just make lifestyle adjustments like having more breaks, like going to the beach and relaxation techniques. If all else fails, then I also just blow my hands dry like you do...hehe:)

Yes, I used to sweat a lot, not only hands become sweaty, but the whole body. That was when i was school, playing sports, running jogging. Now I do not do such things rigourously and I do not go out in sun and hence not much of sweat.

Unfortunately, my hands are not sweaty since it's dry!;)LoL I have a friend who have the same hands as your's, we mostly tease him as the walking (water) DAM!;) I'm not annoyed or affected by it, since it is not his fault to be born with sweaty hands/feet. I told him to use some home remedies, like those absorbents that can help stop the sweating for the moment. And if ever he has time or money, I told him to consult specialitst to help him solve his problems.

Hi, joahna! Yeah, I understand what you mean about having problems at work due to sweaty hands. There've been people who go to doctors to inject Botox on their hands to get rid of this problem, but I don't know how much it costs. I sure hope there's a better and cheap alternative to this problem, esp. since it seems that there are plenty people who have this problem. THX for sharing anyway!!!

Not really anymore. But also like you I remeber to have sweaty hnads liek you , when I was in High school. Oh I hate that so much, becuase it was not comfortable at all. Also I remeber I had them when i was working. Nobody really tell me that they don't like it, but I feel not very comfortable with that, when it came to shake the hands or hand somethign to someone. But since I am at home and doesn't have stress, no more sweaty hands.

Yeah, I do have sweaty hands too. I could remember those days when I was still studying. I used to put a hanky in my arm chair every time I do write some notes, that was so funny. But so far, I haven't been told by anyone that they don't like my sweaty hands. Well, probably they have that idea in mind but was just too afraid to tell me, lol. I don't really mind it in any sense. It doesn't lessen my confidence at all:)

I can recall going to a circus as a child and while watching the trapeze artists, my hands would get terribly sweaty. This also happened later in life when I took our kids to a circus. I experience the issue now only when I am watching an intense movie on television. I am not bothered by sweaty hands because it doesn't last long. Have you always been bothered with this problem?

Hi, carolbee! Ahhhh...only when watching an intense movie, eh? Well, my hands are always sweaty easily when they do something like writing with a pen or holding another person's hand for some time. So when they're outstretched and not doing anything, they're basically fine. :-)))

Hi friend! I don't have a sweaty hands but I have some cousins and friends who's hands are sweating so hard. Sometimes they are pissed of with it because when they are writing, the pad/paper gets wet. Also they tend to be sensitive to some laundry soap. Good to know that your hubby loves it, as I must say. Hi, Marie! Oh yeah, sometimes I make writing pad damp, though not too wet, but still he he he... I'm glad my hands aren't sensitive to any soap, though.
