Children that are picky about what they eat

My oldest son is very picky. It's hard to cook for him because he doesn't like the same thing as the other two (who are not picky at all). So my question is if you have a child that's a picky eater, do you make him/her eat whatever you've fixed, or do you let them have something else that they like?

my son is 3 now, and he is so picky about what he eats!! if it isn't chicken nuggets, french fries, dora fruit snacks, or hot dogs he will not eat it! I used to obsess about it, but now I put a few things for him to "try" and then 1 thing he really like to eat on his plate, and usually he'll eat a little of everything! But it took a long time for him to try anything other than the foods he wanted to eat :)

My 2 year old loves chicken. I think he'd eat that all the time if he could lol. He doesn't like vegetables at all. But now my daughter will eat anything. She loves raw veggies. My oldest has gotten better about eating more foods, but he doesn't like veggies either.

My own son is annoyngly picky-what he enjoys eating is disgusting to the whole family members-he wouldnt eat any food that doesnt have a heavy concentration of garlic-his food smells so heavy with garlic that everybody feels unmfortable at table-we therefore accommodate him by removing his share of food and giving it over to him to add the correct dose of garlic. Yes, he definitely eats in his own style

I'm not sure I could eat that much garlic lol. But I love mustard and I eat it on a lot of stuff. My family has always picked on me because of how much mustard I eat lol.

i dont have kids yet but my sister does have 3 and 1 on the way. her eldest is a finicky eater. and takes a long time to finish his food. usually she cooks food for him only. though sometimes when she's angry or her kid did something wrong, she forces him to eat what the other 2 kids are having!
