I am fairly new to Mylot and am trying to figure it all out.
I understand that you get paid for starting a new discussion and for your first response to a discussion. I also understand that you earn with referrals and on their activity.
What I don't know is - Does the person who starts a discussion get anything for the responses to it.
Do you get credit for each of the first responses that are entered by other members?
I have look in FAQ's and this issue is not covered.
Is there anywhere they show a list of what is paid for and what is not?
Guide lines does talk about not paying for additional responses to a discussion and they won't pay for short answers. But what about those responding to your discussion?

A lot of people keep saying no, so I put it to the test. I didn't respond to anything for three days except back to people who responded to my discussions and I ended up making 40 cents total. So with my experiment, I have to say yes.

I have wondered about this my self. Thank you for putting it to the test for us. I guess now we know for sure.

Yes, people who start successful discussions (as in someone responds to them) get something for the effort. I won't go into my exact numbers, but there have been days when I have responded to a single discussion and started a discussion that got answered, and earned more than what I typically earn just responding. And I have done this several times--college student, short on time as I am, occasionally it all that I have time for.
Ultimate proof here, watch the number of people who have been here for awhile, quite a few of them seem to just start discussions and never seem to respond to anyone else's. They won't be doing it if they were not gaining something from it (yes, I am taking another Economics class this semester, can you tell).
Exactly how much is anyone's guess. Certain topics are better than other. etc., etc. For yourself, see if you earned anything from this one--did it make a difference?

I have seen so many discussions on the same topic, people wanting to know how much they will earn and how much they need to post to earn something here on mylot, the answer is no idea !! No one knows anything about how much you earn and what you have to do to earn a certain amount, the closest we can do is approximate or make educative guesses as to how much work and effort we need to put in to earn a certain something from mylot, i feel that the ore responses you get to a discussion the more you got to earn out of it because after all the number of discussions are an indicator of the quality of the discussion and then i also feel that your star rating has got something to do with your earning capacity per day , but what i can definitely tell you is that the more effort you put on mylot, the more money you are going to be able to earn out of it ! So happy earning !!
