I have been watching the cable news networks and they are seriously discussing what kind of influence he will have on the nominations. They are even seriously discussing whether what he is doing is legal or not. I say that people are pretty dissatisfied with politicians in general, no matter what side of the aisle they are on. but what do you think?

I don't know, a lot of people watch his show and might take him seriously, which could have some real drastic effects on noninatons and I do think that the deal he has with doritos in not legal if he is using them to help fund his campeign.

That is the funny thing about it, the campaign is an obvious joke, but it does not stop these guys that take politics seriously from treating it like a real issue for them. It is my opinion, that while the Doritos money cannot directy contribute to his campaign as an endorsement, he can however, use that endorsement money as his own personal revenue, which of course, he is allowed to spend as much of that as he wants on his campaign.

We possibly were watching the same shows. He's actually beating several of the Democrats in the polls and as Dan Abrams said, it could very well affect the coverage the actual candidates get in the media if Colbert actually shows up and "campaigns" in South Carolina. People certainly are dissatisfied with politicians in general but I think it's a shame for someone who is only doing it as a joke to divert attention from some candidates who really have a good message. This is not meant as criticism against Stephen Colbert, I think he's a riot and I doubt he even expected to be taken in the least bit seriously! Annie

Exactly right it was Dan Abrams, but I switch between the news channels and I saw it discussed on Fox as well, and I think I saw a short blurb about it on CNN as well. I think it is great that they are exposing themselves by covering Stephen Colbert more than they will Ron Paul. At least that is my perception and opinion ;-)
