I am trying to learn some HTML because I love designing something and I was told that PHP is a better for creating pages that would connect with databases, different servers etc. I don't know if that is true because I have never tried PHP out and propably I won't till I learn HTML good. Anyway, what is your oppinion on these two programming languages and which one is the easier one (I am too lazy to learn something hard) and better for web programming?

I would love to be able to understand HTML, I don't know what PHP is, I had to do my webpage through WORD because I just could not understand any of the other programs especially with HTML, I think you have to have a very good memory.

It is pretty much like learning a usual language. You have to remember common used words, but when you are working on something it is not bad to have the learning course by your side so you could remind yourself if you had forgotten something.

HTML is easier in the sense that it simple. Just use Dreamweaver and some Photoshop, and you have your website. PHP on the other hand is soo much complex. 1) YOu need to have a good HTML background and, 2) You need to learn some C/c++ basics or perl-like coding. If you have time NOT to be lazy, tinker with PHP/MySQL coz it can hold THE FUTURE for YOU. ^_- v

I have some experience in MySQL but not with websites. HTML is also not very hard for creating nice website. I use Macromedia Studio (Dreamweaver cuz I don't know how to work on the other programs). I got an ebook about PHP and as I can see there PHP is better for working with databases, so if I need one I deffinitely should learn PHP, but I am still not on that lvl where I would need one because I am still trying to improve my HTML skills which is not as easy for me.

Well, I know alot about HTML and some PHP, and i would say since i am still learning PHP that HTML is SSOOOOOOO much easier. If I had the chance to go back and learn PHP when I learned HTML I would though. HTML is perfect for a lot of websites people want to make, PHP can make things like logins and stuff, different functions. Good Luck learning one -Nathan

hi Lightlord HTML is used to design pages.it mainly consider about the look and feel.it wont think about the data.it jsut is there for presenting data.if you want to bring your data from database and you want to display you need to use PHP or ajax.so php and html both are different.
