I was walking home this evening after a quick juant to the drug store. There is s bicycle trail that cuts through a small park near where I live. A young man on a bicycle coming from the oppositedirection sllows down; stops & says in a friendly voice "You look like a littel old lady." I look at him & said "I am a little old lady." Actually I am middle aged. He laughed & continued on his way. Not sure if he was just being friendly or insulting. I just thought it was a very strange thing to say.

Maybe from a distance he thought you were a young girl and that remark may have been an honest and spontaneous one when he got close to you and realized you weren't. I think it's funny.

very strange comment indeed , I read other comments and I disagree. I think he must have thought that you are an old person who may need his help and as he approached you he realised that you are a much younger person hence the exclamation and when you replied like that he couldn't help laughing at himself. I think he was laughing at his own confusion and your reply back made him realise you are one person who surely needs no one's help.
May be I am too optimistic and still trust the world at large despite all that muggling that goes on.

Hi Mansha I agree with you. I don't think that he had an ulterior motive. As you said he probably thought from a distance that I was old but realize as he got closer that I wasn't. I didn't feel threaten by him. BTW I gave you a best response.

I would say that he was insulting.Had he said you look like a nice lady, then maybe that would have been friendly but to say you look like a little old lady? that was insulting...In fack he appers to be some type of weird-0..I would be very careful if i were you,he sounds more like a pervert. He might have attack you had you been a little younger. It seems like he said that because he looked and realized that he thought since you were older that he would not bother you.Be careful of this person...

I probably won't run into him on a regular basis. I think this was just a random encounter. He seemed like a regular guy; not a weirdo. I will be careful.

Your aura of that day must be in so-so mood or lower. People charm instead is easy noticed by kids, because they are good acceptor. Don't worry, it doesn't mean anything. Maybe he just put the word by his own way, that doesn't mean you are old. Cheers up and make up your life. Be smile.

LOL - I think he was just being friendly. I think he may have meant it in a warm way...I can't really explain what I mean but I read it as something nice and not insulting LOL.

I guess you have a much better sense of humor than me because as soon as he said that I could see myself saying something like, "You look like an idiot on wheels." I think what he said was insulting, and I'd have returned the favor, what ever happened to "Hello" OR "Hi, how are you ?" People aren't they wonderful... Take care my friend.

Old is as old does. My mom wants me to dye my hair because she says the white makes me look old. Well, darn it, I got this white hair from her!!! Besides, that's what dad said to her when she was my age! I'm over 50, I should look any way I want to look - and if that means dying this darn white hair PURPLE, I will! At least I won't have to BLEACH it first!

He was just being friendly! When you are 16, a person of 35 looks old. I remember being married and 21 and a sales clerk wouldn't give me credit on a piece of furniture in a store, because she didn't think I was 21. I was furious!

That is a bit strange. Maybe it's because of what you were wearing? Or maybe you had a worrysome look on your face? Who knows. Then again, different people see things in different ways but it does have you pondering though, doesn't it?
