A Wonderful Video About Those Dogs Rescued At Puppy Mill

I recently did a discussion of how Best Friends rescued 179 dogs from a puppy mill in Virginia, and I had even included a video that showed and highlighted one of the dogs, Mabel, who by the way is now happily adopted by a new loving owner and is free from being a puppy breeder. I just got this up-date and it's a video showing some more of the dogs rescued from the puppy mill and many of them too have been adopted..but I just had to share this good-feeling video with you... Ah..warning...while it's a happy video...do have tissues nearby.. I couldn't stop crying over it... http://www.bestfriends.org/video/tyrm/VidPlayer.html

Hi pyewacket! That is amazing! God bless the souls of the people behind Best Friends and all those people who showed kindness to these defenseless dogs, especially you. More power and I hope all those puppy mills will be closed down soon. I just wish I could adopt one but I am not from your country. Take care and have a nice day.

I keep thinking in the back of my mind how much I would love to have a puppy....don't think my cats would appreciate a new intruder though--LOL

Oh, I have heard of stories that cats and dogs can be really good friends too. I have seen picture of a dog and a cat snuggled together and look so cute and adorable. But I am not really trying to change your mind though. haha.. Take care and have a nice day my friend.

I think they should close those puppy mills and make them illegal. If I were breeding puppies, it would be just for pure breeds and I would find a large farm with lots of grass, give each dog and his mate a whole wired off section so they could run around and have fun and not get in fights with the other dogs, make sure there are at least, one vet. on call, hire the best people who really love dogs, make sure they have the best food, and there would be no cages. It would be registered by the Pure Breed association or whatever you call it. And they would give tests to see if the owners will take care of the puppies when they buy them and if the new owners find that the puppy has sores or something, they can report to the SPCA. This will ensure that no strays will be allowed and would be adopted out to families who will love them.

I agree so much that all puppy mills should be made illegal.

Oh, that is so wonderful. It's so nice to hear some good news. It's too bad there are such places. I think they should stop all this breeding, and let the dogs that are homeless, find a home. There are so many of them.

I wish there were more places like Best Friends...too bad they don't have branches in each state, like they do with the aspca--they seem to do so much for all types of animals

There are more and more of these popping up. They are an easy source of income. However, I don't see how anyone could have that cruelty in them to do it. Money powers evil though, so they will always be around. It's good to see some action being taken against them though.

That is great hun, so good to see. *sniffles* The sooner the puppy farms are shut down the better, there are more than enough homeless and unwanted animals desperate for good homes.

I just watched the video with great joy-and a chuckle or two, pyewacket. It is a wonderful thing that Best Friends are doing by rescuing these animals. I think it's great they are being adopted into good homes. They will bring someone much happiness and enjoyment.

I hope the folks that really need to see this, see this. It is so important that the "demand" also be stopped - that people kindly give their opinion to local pet stores to not sell dogs. There was a pet store near me where the staff was very knowledgeable and they didn't sell puppies and kittens at all - then one day they announced that the were - but not using puppymills, only reputable breeders which is BS because no reputable breeder if there is indeed such a thing would let their puppies go to a pet store to be taken home by whoever has the cash, not who is going to be the best home. Thanks for supporting rescue!

You're so right...that was a lot of bull for that pet store to claim that they were selling dogs from a reputable breeder, for as you say a real breeder of pedigree dogs would never stoop to selling puppies to just anyone through a store.
