American Psycho was the best book I ever read ,ok I don't read only crap :P but still. What actually annoys me is the descriptive part ,too many brands but well that's how a psycho thinks. It did influenced me somehow but it's still way too much until I'll start killing people just for pleasure .What about you?

I read this book back when it was released and bookstores for the first few months could not have it on the shelves you had to ask for it due to its graphic detail.
The whole purpose of the name brands and details in the book are to show you exactly how this serial killer thinks. Sadly the movie was a total bore.
Brett Easton Ellis has written awesome books such as The Informers, Less Then Zero, and others. American Psycho was a disturbing read but gave you insight into a killer's mind hence all the details of perfumes, tooth paste and so on.
