How many times has Dale Earnhardt Blown up this year while teammate
Martin Truex goes on to complete with a good finish at a Nextel Cup race? and then today in Atlanta with a few remaining laps and very good shot at another top five finish Earnhardt's wheel falls off and smacks up the car real good.
Ever since Dale Jr. decided to leave D.E.I. strange luck has been his fate,Let's just hope whomever is responsible for the work done on his race car doesn't get him hurt or worse before this season is over.
Does anyone else think there is something funny going on at the homefront?

I don't think there is a conspiracy, I think it's just that DEI is having more problems than most with the new motors. They don't seem to have as good a motor program as Hendrick or RCR. It may have something to do with the new unleaded fuel, but it would be a DEI problem as no one else seems to be having problems.

Because all RCR drivers are in the chase, they aren't using the new engine, RO7 I think. So, they are using DEI as sort of an R&D program.

I have thought for some time that maby it was jr knowing he was leaving that he didnt want to win any races and earn his step mother any extra anyhing, but ya now I do wonder whats up with week after week the problems he has , its almost like someone is out to get him. I like you hope the remaining races are ok for him and he can move on to better things.

I have no doubts anymore, no matter what anyone says or who they are trying to defend. How do you have one car that continually has some sort of mechanical trouble and the rest are fine. DEI is falling apart at the seams, they have lost 5 key people in the company so far and I am sure more are on thier way out. Let's just pray JR makes it through the rest of the season unscathed.

I think something has got to be going on too...wheels don't just fall off like that. And he's had more "bad luck" than is normal in a season. It really seems like someone or several someones are pretty disgruntled about him leaving. If I were him, after what happened yesterday, I'd just quit now before anything worse happens. He could field one of his own cars for the remaining races. Whoever or whatever is causing his problems could end up killing him if the keep it up.

I don't watch much nascar because I am normally occupying the kids so they don't distrub my husband. So I am going to ask my husband what he thinks. He is a big time Nascar fan and seems to know everything if you ask him about something to do with Nascar. As for me, just from what I have read, it sure does seem like something is not right and someone is very upset that he is leaving. I just hope he doesn't get seriously hurt or killed. He will be joining a better team next year. He will actually be my husband's driver's team mate.

I've really considered this myself. I believe he's tied for the 2nd most DNF's this season behind only Ryan Newman. The DEI squad has always been solid and had good cars out there week after week. This season seems completely different to me. It's almost like there's a timer in the car...every race...that counts down to engine failure.
I love Dale and I hope the best for him at Hendrick. Maybe he'll have better luck there?

Yes, it seems more than a little strange to me too. Everyone knows Jr.'s a talented driver so it's not a case of him just being "hard on equipment" and it does seem to be a bit too much of a coincidence. I don't want to sound like I'm accusing anyone of anything but I'm with you and hope nothing goes wrong in the remaining races.
