falling asleep at the wheel

what do you do to stay awake when you are getting sleepy while driving? My brother in law recently had this happen and was seriously hurt and demolished his car. I have to drive at night often while being tired. I crank the stereo, drink or eat, talk to who ever is in the car, and sometimes roll down the window to get fresh air in.

Hi there.. Though I have never fallen asleep on the wheel, I still take a lot of precautions whnever there's a chance.. I have kept a box of chewing gums in my car, so that I can pop one into my mouth while I am feeling sleepy.. Also, I turn on the radio of my car, which is more interesting then the regular music on cds.. Even I roll down my window completely so that air keeps striking my air, and I don't fall asleep...

If I am driving alone, I will use chewing gums to avoid drowsiness. Chewing gum is not only for facial exercise substance, but it can help us stay fresh while driving. Not just that, it freshen up our breath smell.
