Pet peeves

This discussion is about pet peeves - things that drive you crazy. I did look up pet peeves and saw many about things that irritate you in others. What about pet peeves that don't involve others? Mine are zip lock bags - without the little zipper. Its so hard for me for some reason to match up the bag. Takes so long that sometimes I just clip it. Mild dyspraxia. Yes, I concentrate! And blinds, I always struggle with blinds! Figuring out how to open things. What about you - what are you pet peeves that don't involve other people?

Oh wow, me too, sometimes I can't even see. I love eating them though! And they're in the garlic family so they're also good to ward against colds. Not as strong and antibiotic though. :)

Hey goggles aren't a bad idea. What's worse, crying and irritation or wearing goggles?

Yeah, I also love eating food with garlic or onion. ;-D They said that wearing swimming goggles would help. I tried it once and it did work, but it's so impractical to have to wear them all through the chopping and cooking he he he...

Yes, that does go on my pet peeve list. Along with the pouches of bacon or even cheese, that say they are resealable, but you end up having to use the scissors just to open them, thereby making the 'resealable' claim useless. My other pet peeve is when I brush my teeth...how do toothpaste particles end up on my mirror? LOL

LOL I feel you on the bacon! Have you seen, I think they are clorox wipes for glass commerical? When the lady is brushing her teeth with her son and her electric toothbrush stops working and so she takes it out of her mouth and it starts working again, spraying toothpaste all over her kid and the mirror? LOL How come shes not concerned with the toothpaste all over her kids face?? Thats funny to me....Im not sure how it gets there Ambie, but it sure does!!

Pet peeves that don'tinvolve others....Sneakers that squeak when walking, the obnoxious low frequeny rumble from the factory behind our strip mall that makes me feel ill in certain stores there, the cotton in certain medicine bottles, the e-mails I get about male enhancement products and naked women looking for a playmate, the taste of the glue on stamps and envelopes, and the way shiny magazine pages feel when my hands are wet

I once had this perfect pair of boots, foxyfire, suede knee high boots that were sooooooooo quiet. I adored them. As you wrote about the low hum, I felt nauseous, I think I've experience similiar things. I don't have the same pet peeve about magazine pages but I do have one about them. I hate the way the numbers aren't on every page. I always get confused and wind up going back and forth and back and forth. I know they want you to read the whole thing, but I like to read certain articles first. Hope you had a relaxing weekend!

Sneakers that squeak...I spent $120 on some Nike shox that squeal like all hell! I hardly wear them! Grrrr. I have tried thinner socks with them, thicker socks with them, cos it seems the squeak is coming from inside the shoe. lol Doesnt matter, I either get my money out of them and act like its not my shoes, or they sit in the box in the closet. Speaking of stamps and glue, I went to the post office the other day and I hadnt sealed the envelope yet. I asked the lady to seal it with her little wet sponge. You know what she did? She slid a little tray with a dirty sponge in it my way and said here. LOL I said no thanks Ill lick it! It was gross looking!!

Maybe she didn't want to touch it either the person before her had gotten dirty - still she should have said that!

Pet peeves not involving people? Static! I hate when my hair gets staticy. It floats all over and touches my face (another pet peeve!), I hate my hair touching my face. I also hate getting a static electricity shock every time I get out of the car! Alarm clocks! I absolutely despise the sound of an alarm clock, any alarm clock! High shipping prices. I hate it when I am shopping online and go to check out and the place completely tries to rip you off on shipping! I don't know if this is OCD or a pet peeve. But, when I make a sandwich the bread must be aligned up so they match. Just like they did when you took them out of the bread bag. My husband laughs at me, but it drives me crazy if the pieces of bread don't fit together perfectly. When the baby is poopy and I can't get a wipe out. Then when you finally get one, thirty come out at once! I am sure there are many more, but these are the ones I can think of right now!

I'm not into staticky hair either - which is one reason I detest sweaters - other is that I feel so confined in them. As for wipes - I just open u pthe bigger top - I don't mess with pulling it out. I want to get one of those alarm clocks that has no sounds but gradually lights up, o rthe tibetian chimes.

hmmm, interesting topic. Most of the time, pet peeves do involve people, so I actually have to think for a moment about actual "things". I'm thinking one of my pet peeves is changing the vacuum bag. sooooo annoying. :)

Most of my pet peeves don't involve people, however I figured most people get annoyed with other people. There are many mylot topics about people peeves and I didn't want to copy it. Changing the vaccuum bag is annoying, I have to agree. My husband likes to vaccuum so I let him though. :)

hearing someone chew, people that let the phone ring and ring when it is sitting right next to them, people who butt in right in the middle of your sentence when you are speaking, drivers talking on cell phones instead of paying attention to the road, the little plastic clips that go on bread bags that snap in half when I take them off, and telemarketers.

Um did you answer the wrong discussion? While I appreciate you response, my thread specifically said pet peeves that don't involve others. I always welcome participants, however, I prefer it when those who reply read more then just the title. That's one of my big pet peeves. Thanks, and hope you had a good weekend.

Mine is " child proof" pill containers. I never can open them. You are suppose to push down and twist, but I can never do it. I don't have kids so I usually take a knife and open the bottle and put the pills in a container i can open.

Yep, I figure, I'm going to have to wait until my baby is older. When we were kids, it was us who opened my mom's child proof containers. Well mostly my brother and sister. So I figure when my baby is older he'll be able to open it.
