I am just curious to see how many people got their start working in McDonalds. This was my first job and I actually kept at it for over a year. I was 16 when I started working there and for the most part it was a pretty good experience.

I have worked at many food places, however I was offered a job at Hardees but they didnt have a uniform for me. She never called to let me know when the uniforms came in so therefore I never worked there. Most of the fast food places I worked I didnt like very much but hey I got money off it so that was cool. The best I found was working at Sonic as a car hop. That was kinda cool. No I didnt skate though. I tried once and fell that was funny.

I started in 2001 as a grill closer. Now I am a second assistant and its at the very least annoying. Lots of work and stress for just enough money to get by. If your using McDonalds as a transistion because your in school. Then I would recommend it. Otherwise RUN!!!! Many people make a living doing the McDonalds thing which is OK. It takes an awesome breed to put up with the daily grind and I respect anyone who can do it. Yet, I can not in good faith say its "a good experience".

I worked there when I was 17 for about 2 weeks and hated it...I think it was more the manager than the job itself.
My daughter worked there for over a year and she loved it. She has a better paying job now but says she misses it, she had alot of fun and if they paid managers better wages, she would go back.
I remember when I worked there they used to give the managers a thunderbird after 10 years of service....too bad they don't do that anymore!!(she might go for it then and so would alot of other people, I think)

McDonalds was indeed my first job, because the place I was employed at the year before didn't count since I made a measly $2 an hour. Don't ask. Both places were horrible. I smelled like fries on practically an every day basis all summer. But hey, at least I got me some moneys!

I worked there twice. My first job and then again when I started college. I worked there a total of about 3years. It was fun, had great co workers and the work was fun, I could make 6 big macs in 30secs(when we had a bin to hold the food in). The management was horrible(got in my face yelling at me throwing stuff because I did not sweep yet(did not have time was making food). got cussed out for calling in sick one day. I also remember this 15yr old kid that worked there. His mom called and told him his uncle was in a house fire and had 3rd degree burns. She said she was coming to get him and take him to the hospital to see his uncle. When the kid told the manager this the manager said "when she gets here calm her down and send her own to the hospital, you gotta stay and work."

It was my first job. I started there when I was 17. I worked there for a little over a year, and left for a different job 1 week out of high school. I worked that job for about 8 months and then started working at both my new job and McDonald's because one of my friends was a manager and they were desperate for morning help. I worked there a second time for about a year before I got sick of it and quit again.

I used to work at Burger King, but eventually quit because I got a job at a retail store for the same pay, except at the retail I got to stand around doing nothing. lol. Burger King wasn't that bad, but it was a bit to busy and noisy for me all the time.
