Red Sox Win the World Series! Arrests made in Boston!

The Red Sox won the World Series last night with a sweep against the Rookies. Police in riot gear arrested dozens around Fenway Park after the win. Way is it that when a sport team wins the fans have to get out of control with their celebrating?

we did not get to out of controll when we won nothing like 2004

I am not a sports fan. So hopefully you can help me understand. I haven't just noticed this in baseball. But I have heard news reports where sports fans will get so out of control that they do damage to and hurt others. I don't consider that celebrating. Why do sports fans act like that sometimes?
