Do you? What kind of music? With or without lyrics? I listen to all kind of genre of music when I study. Both with and without lyrics. I like to blast my speakers while doing so, although sometimes my parents would complain. Without music, I find it hard to concentrate, which explains why I do not really do as expected during exams xD How about you?

I did when I was in college to help keep me awake. Sometimes I got overwhelmed by my studies and get really tired, so the music would help me stay awake then.

I can't concentrate on studying with music blasting away especially if it is something that I like. I tend to sing alog or follow the lyrics. Even if it is instrumental..I tend to hum along and lose track of my studies. I don't mind light music in the background though I prefer silence when I am studying. Funnily, I can block out other noise when I studying ...but not music.

i also like to listen to music while studying and it can be of any type.Let it be a rock or a soft song i like them.Yes it is also here that my parents often scold me for doing this but i love it and i just do what i want to do.And without music i dont get any interest in studying as without it i get a little bored and i dont study well.

I study with music or with th television on. This helps me to relax but I also study without them too becuase sometimes I dont like to even hear a clock ticks when I am studying. When I am not in that mood and have the music on I learn faster and retain a lot of information too.

oh gosh I am eclectic so anything good goes! Like you, I like background music when I study. Not that it makes a huge difference I think. I do try to stick to more relaxing tunes when I am reading though cuz anything that makes me wanna get up and jig is a tad too distracting xD

I can't study with music. I tried listening to music while I study and I end up just listening to the lyrics and can't concentrate

Yes I listen to music while I was studying, I listen nearly to any kind except metal or hard rock, it make me study better but it must be with a low volume not high as in the car for example, also my parents used to complain but finally they surrender because if they made me stop music I stay doing anything else except studying.

Personally I really enjoy music while I study. The one problem with this is that I love lyrics and thus feel like I need to sing along. I counter this with 'foreign' music. I enjoy a little German rock with Rammstein and random Spanish tunes, etc.

Not all persons are the same when it comes to habits in studying. There are those who prefer total silence when reviewing their lessons to be able to grasp what ever they are reading. Another group may be motivated to study more because of the music they're listening to while reviewing. In my case, I could bear it all provided the music I listen to is soft and mellow and the volume is minimized so as not create noise. Personally, I could easily grasp what I am studying when I listened to soft music.
