I am between the U.S and the U.K, only at really peak traffic times have I found both my yahoo and gmail services a bit slow..but otherwise I haven't had many ptoblems. I just bought my own domain name and hope touse my oen domain email addy too which will be even more secure. I hope that you can sort out your email problems soon. I think also governments the world over are keeping an eye on the internet so that may slow things doen too.

Yes, also the same problem sometimes here. Maybe you can try the link with https://www.gmail.com rather than http://www.gmail.com I found the "https" is stable than "http"

I am in the Philippines and my gmail is quite o.k. I could say out of 10 tries there has only been only 1 time when I can't sign in properly or the processing is slow. I could definitely see that there's good with gmail but I couldn't say the same for AOL. Their service is always down and they tell me that my connection is slow, but in fact I have higher than average connection speed.
=)
Yeah, I guess the government inspections keep your system low in your country that's why the speed is slower than the rest of us.

i live in India and never felt problem using gmail.
it is really working fine but the point is you are not misusing it.
as it happened with my friend he was using a service gmail drive that is not supported by gmail but is some other third party tool and his account got hanged for few days he was not able to send or receive mail or even access his account.
so you see if you use it properly you are surely in

Gmail is ok for me in Malaysia. It was a bit unstable the last few days, but I think it was because they are now using a new version. The new version is too slow for me and so I try to select "older version" when I use it.

I think it is either really fast or sometimes a bit slow.
I rarely use it... except to email my dad ;
