We set our pumpkins out last week and the squirrels are eating them! I'm going to try setting them back out after misting them with a mixture of vinegar and pepper. Any other suggestions? I'll let you know how this works. I'm going to carve them today when my kids get home.

Instead of black pepper, have you tried cayenne pepper? I often have to use it in my birdfeeder to keep the squirrels out. I read it doesn't bother the birds, but the squirrels hate it. Works good in my feeder, thought it might work on your pumpkins too.

Great! Thanks I will try this. My carving time was postponed until tomorrow, so I'll have to give that a whirl, I was thinking of white pepper though, I'll have to see if I have any cayenne pepper in there. Either way I'll post the result. Thanks again.

This seemed to work very well. I will have to try again next year to see how long it lasts or if I'd have to keep remisting them.
