My son came home from school with a flyer from a local dentist I found interesing. He is giving a dollar for each pound of candy the childern brings in as well as a lighted toothbrush. It's done for two reasons, first is to prevent tooth decay from eating excesive candies and second he will send the candy brought in to the troops deployed. I'm thinking on considering this, just for the fact he is sending it to the men and women supporting us. What do you all think?

I think that's a great idea! I love halloween and I want the kids to have fun, but I struggle with the idea of handing out candy to kids. I want to support a healthy lifestyle for kids, but I know that rolls of pennies are no fun for a kid! I might give out granola bars instead, but still... that might be lame for the kids.
But trading it for money might be fun, and it supports a healthier lifestyle. That's a creative dentist!

I'm like you. I hate seeing over indulgent of sweets mostly. he did say keep a few pieces of your favorite candy and then a buck for a pound might get kids alot of excercising that really don't trying to to get pounds and pounds for cash. I think it's very gracious of him to make this bargin. I'm glad you found my discussion.
