sponsor a dog

Has anyone on here ever sponsored a dog? We signed up with the Dogs Trust. She is a little cutie, a lurcher border collie cross. I think sponsorship is a good idea as it helps to look after the dogs that can not be rehomed for whatever the reason. We did sponsor a pooch that we can go and visit. She was quite poorly when she was found as someone put a staple in her cheek. How can anyone do that to an animal?

Oh my, that is so sad. Those people need to be punished and I think KARMA will get them.
It is kind of you to do this. I have never sponsored a pet myself but I have adopted from the shelter here and in past places I have lived. I always felt like an outcast so adopting the outcast cats or dogs seemed right!
Our newest cat is from the shelter. She was a birthday gift to hubby. He picked her and she is definitely his cat. He names her Sasha.

You have a cute kitty there! Our husky is a welfare/rescue dog. We do try to help the animals when and how we can.
Why do you feel like an outcast?

That is a really sad story. I don't know if I could sponsor a dog though. I think I would get way to attached and I wouldn't be able to give them up. I would end up with like a million dogs or something. It would be very hard to let them go after you've bonded with them for so long. It's great that you are able to do it.

You don't get to take the dog home. The dogs stay at the Trust. We send money down to help with the expenses of keeping the dog for life. It's an easy way to help out. You can of course adopt a dog from them. The one we are sponsoring is not available for adoption.
