Well, I understand that we have to work, get money and spend AND SAVE. However, I never realized how much I have spend in my family until last month I saw this $$$$ sign and it was shocking me. These all included my bills, my house payment, my car, my food, my gas... just about everything that for everyday spend... and guess what? I have to have at least $6000 to spend. Gosh, I can't believe that but what can I do if i have a big house and two kids. I dont know about your average of you folks but I think it is way too much for me to spend. My husband and I have to get more money in or something :)... what about you?

Lately our budget has been out of whack. So many things have come up that it has thrown our budget out so infact we have been spending more than usual.

It's amazing how much money you really spend in a month without really even realizing it. I saw a thing on tv that said to write down everything you buy in a month, even a cup of coffee, so that you can get a real idea of how much money is going out. I was shocked to add it up at the end of the month. All the coffee and lunchs out really added up. Thank God I'm not a smoker, that would be so expensive. Anyways, after doing that little exercise I cut out a lot of the unneccessary extras and have been able to save quite a bit more money each month.

Well, mostly I dont really pay attention to my personal spending cuz I have my budget to spend on house, and other bills. But when my business became low these days, then I come to see my personal spend and then I realized that we spend a little more on personal stuff :)... however, house payment is more than anything else so I can't complain now.

No, I never really realize how much I spend in a month, but I'm pretty sure that I don't spend too much money on my own budget. Most of the budget from this family are just for the kids and basic thing like foods, house. My husband is the one who in charge on the basic expenses for this family.

I had noted down the expense of everyday at one time.Well, sometimes I would feget to do so.Thus,I usually can't tell the account of the month.I mainly spend money on eating,fruit,clothes,book...
Frankly,It is most important that we should practice economy. That is,try to make both ends meet.

I have a budget in my head but need to write it down on paper and keep better track. Its doable but I tend to procrastinate that part of the process. I know that if I write it out and keep closer track that things will be paid on time and I will not be incurring late payments and such.

My wife has been keepting accounts for the past 15 years and she knows how much money we are spending every month on accounts like groceries, education, diningout, clothes, consumer durables, vegetables, miscellaneous etc. Since the pattern is almost same year after year with increase in prices (inflation) it does not make much difference because there is increase in earnings too. It is a budgeted and earmarked. There is no shocking. If monthly expenditure abnormally increases, we apply checks and measures to bring it under control in the next month spending.

When I was growing my father taught me a lesson that to this day I remind myself on a daily basis. My father was the type of person who would buy whatever he wanted. Sometimes not leaving any money to pay the household bills. I loved my father dearly but I knew when I was growing up that I didn't want to continue to live that way.
Now as an adult I have no credit cards. The onl debt I have is my house payment, which I keep one payment ahead in case of emergency. The total of our household expenses is eighteen hundred dollars a month including all expenses. This is for a family of five so I don't think that we do to bad managing our bills.

wow, really? my dad loves to spend on whatever he wants too but he save a lot for us. you made the right decision, thing that you should learn from your parents then you take it, but if the thing that is not benefits to you then you should take it away.

Well, reality bites as they say. I used to be shocked too by my daily expenses and had a hard time budgeting my measly income. Not to mention that I was hard put when I think of where I put all my earnings. Then I read somewhere that I should keep track of all my expenses and my income. So daily, I have a list of all my cash out and also of my salary and some other income. This way, I get to see where my money is going and can make some good decisions on where I could cut back on expenses and have real savings.

that's a good idea. I dont really spend much on junk stuff, or household supplies... the most think I spend is my home payment, and utilities... and my baby's stuff.

The beginning of this year I started writing down every since cent that came in and went out. I was trying to pay down so me debt so I wanted to keep track of my expenses. It was a real wake up call when I saw that one month I spent more than I bought in. That made me stop right there and find ways of cutting unnecessary spending. I think for you keeping a journal will help you track your expenses. You can find simple ways of cutting out unnecessary spending when you know where all your money is going.

I always have a Journal of these expenses, but the reason that it brought my attention to it cuz my business is slowing down and I was trying to see what went wrong with it... then it just surprising me a little. However, husband and I deal with a lot of cash and we used to make a good money tho, but just these month thing changed... I never realized how much I spend over these stuff until I added them UP :(
