What is Torrent?

Well, my sister keeps on asking me what a Torrent is and I can't answer her because I have no idea what it is. So, what is torrent? what it can do? how does it work? Thank you..

it means a link file over a network operating under p2p (Peer to peer) networks. People who want to download the movies,songs,softwares can download and upload via torrent softwares like bit torrent, Kazza etc.. But you dont download. Because most of the files are included with viruses with them. Torrents can be downloaded from sites like www.torrentz.com and www.btmon.com

Well if I'm not mistaken, it's a music or movie file. At least that's what Bittorrent and Torrent are used to download. Then when you have those on your computer it creates a folder called the torrent folder and it's where all your music and movies go.
