Do you ever have to use the internet to find a manual for something you have?

Since I usually can't find or just throw out manuals that come with whatever I buy I'm very lucky to find them on the internet. I always think I can figure it out myself but often can't. It seems there is always something that I find on something like a camera, cell phone or coffee maker that is extra and there's no way I'll know how to use it so I'll search for it on the net and have always been lucky. Have you ever had to do this? Do you keep all your manuals when you buy something new? Do you find it easy when you look for what you need?

My husband works on air conditioners and heating systems and he's been able to find manuels on certain things on the internet. As for me, I hate manuels because they might as well be written in a totally different language. lol One time we went to the mall (UGH!) to find a gift and we talked to this young girl who agreed with me about hating manuels and she made this comment that I've never forgotten and is so funny, she said "If I can't figure out how to put it together then it isn't worth having" lol Boy isn't that the truth?! LOL

That is something worth remembering. Some things have such complicated manuals for the smallest things that it isn't funny.

I am obsessive when it comes to keeping up with manuals, ctry! I even have manuals from products I bought years ago, and they are long gone. I never assume that I can put things together without some help-and I am right most of the time. Like I always tell everyone, the things come with a manual for a reason. That is why I always keep them. I purchased a new stereo system a little over a year ago, and I still have to go back to the manual sometimes when a problem crops up with it.

Even though I usually throw them out I have come across a couple that I don't even have the item any more. I must have been in one of my "save it" modes.

My husband & I have used the internet a few times to find manuals. For a start, hubby needed a manual for car & was lucky enough to find it on the net. I once spent ages looking up instructions on a pedometer. I try to keep all my manuals when I buy a new appliance, but you know how it is. Something always goes missing. The internet can be very useful in this regard.

I always download the manual as soon as I buy something...it is easier then keeping track of stacks of manuals for everything from the remote control to the washing machine.

Hi ctry, Yes, I do keep my manuals. You never know when you may need it. For things that I have purchased or acquired without a manual, I go on-line to search for it. I have had pretty good luck doing this. Happy posting..

When I find I need it I just go online and sometimes I print it out if it's small enough. What I like about that is that I don't have to have the foreign language part of the manual which just makes extra pages and the manual too big.

LOL, I do it all the time. I logged on the other day to find the users guide to my universal remote. I needed the code to program it to work for the new TV we got. I also do it to find stuff for my computer equipment, like my CD/DVD drive, my mouse, hell even my cell phone. I figure I'm on here all the time anyway might as well put it to use.
