My religion is Hindu. It forbids people from eating Cow's flesh. Jews must not eat pigs flesh. Celts were forbidden eating horse flesh. For many hundreds of years Roman Catholic obtained from eating meat on Fridays.
I am vegetarian and do not eat meat due to health reasons and humanitarian grounds, having a strong belief that killing animal for food is wrong.
If you do not eat meat, what are the reasons other than above?

Evolution of the human body means that our body is actually set up to be able to eat meat.
While we can easily live on vegetables etc, our body really does need meat to sustain it properly, unless we get the same minerals, vitamins etc to make up for the lack of meat.
The appendix is an organ that use to process leaves, bark, grass or what ever, but over millions of years the human body has changed to the point where we dont need our appendix.
Young people are the people who get appendicitis, the reason older people dont get appendicitis, is because the appendix shrivels up to virtually nothing, this happens at about the age of 30 to 40 years of age.
The funny thing is, the fat in meat can make us very sick, and the lack of red meat can make us anaemic.
I eat meat and I eat vegetables.

I do not have a religion who forbids me to eat anything. I just don't like to eat meat from small animals as lambs or kalves. I hate it when people eat cat's ore dog's. Realy don't understand that.

I eat meat because I feel that God gave us the right to when he gave us dominion over the animals. I don't eat it in excess and I don't believe in killing it without using all of it (no killing it as a trophy).
