and bringing back the Pink Flamingo.
I know, I know! the pink flamingo was considered to be the height of tackiness, yet it flourished.
I love the goofy things and have some in my front yard. The neighbors thought it weird at first then realized as the greenery filled it around them, they added a nice touch of color.
Would you put pink flamingos in your yard? Why or why not?
DO you have plastic elves? They were next after the flamingos for tackiness.

I can be pretty quirky with my decorating style so I can totally see myself giving this a try for a little while at least. I like bright and bold colors so the flamingos would totally fit in. I did my old living room in black, silver and fuscia just to give you an idea of my quirkiness.

That is not quirky..it is gutsy. You are not scared to move out of the mundane.

"Gutsy"...I like that way of looking at it! I just thought "quirky" sounded fun but I think I like "gutsy" better. Thanks!

Some family members have some around. I do not. I do not have anything in my yard except some rocks, houseplants and birdbaths. It is a custom around these parts for church youth groups to take bids to "flock" chosen people. They may secretly put as many as 200 pink flamingos in someone's yard as a prank. Much nicer than being t.p.ed.It is a nice way to learn that you are popular. There is a house not far from me that puts out all kinds of ceramic things, or plastic things, toys, figurines, you name it, in their yard. They have, for instance, a large white goose and five or six smaller white geese in different poses right out in their yard. It is cute. Those kinds of things make me smile.

You know, we see these design shows, and shows that tell us how to dress and I think we should just be able to be ourselves - -- within reason.
I like cute..and if it makes someone smile..can it be bad..I think not!

That is cool ..I would love that.
Our house is popular with the younger ones, since every so often we had to the flock. Many parents have asked if it is ok if the kids pet the flamingos. Some use them as math lessons...count the flamingos etc.
The kids seem to love it...making the parents like it..I say 'Long live the plastic flamingo'

Only if I can have real Flamingo and baby sitter for Flamingos when I am away....
I don't like plastic deco in my yard, my dogs need a room to run. They own my yard.....

I agree with having room for the dog..but I have mine in the front yard. I guess though if I did want it in the back yard..it could be a doggie obstacle course.

I think I love you, LOL. I love pink flamingos. Ever since I caught the Golden Girls in reruns I have been fascinated by pink flamingos. I have a pink flamingo lamp that has bright green hair. I also have a 4 ft. tall flamingo that wears a Santa cap and has a wreath around his neck. He comes out every Christmas and his name is Eddie. My friends pose with him. If I did have a house, I would put one pink flamingo in my yard. Sure, they can be tacky, but done right, the house can look fun and inviting! Thanks for letting me talk about pink flamingos!

I am glad I am not alone..I think we should start a movement to bring back the pink flamingo lawn ornament..
You know a chicken in every pot and a pink flamingo on every lawn.
