here in Australia we dont tip much in fact its not even an issue as we dont do it. Some places dont except tips full stop. Some have a jar that you put your tip (and most of those places give that money to charity) or they have a can for donation. If they have the jar or the can I live my coins there or if they bring you the bill to your table I live the coins but not notes. I fell that we pay enough as it is.

Well here they get payed as much as everyone else. I have not worked any of the jobs you mentioned but almost all of my friends have. My friend works in a restourant and gets about $24 an hour even Mcdonalds pays more than $2.13 they recive something like $9 at least. They do not depend on tips and it should be the emloyer who pays the wages not the consumers you should be angree at the owners. In Australia we have GST thats goods and services tax so we pay the tax for their service so its no logical to give tips on top.

You are suppose to tip 10% of your bill, or for anything thing that is less then .50 (like if your bill totals 1.00 then your 10% would only be .10) you should tip no less then .50.

i usually tip 20% of the total bill and that's when i'm really satisfied with the service. i usually tip my barbers a lot becuse aside from the usual haircut, they fix my moustache and beard pretty well without me asking them.
i also tip in restaurants and cabs and the amount depends on the quality of service that i got. tipping varies in different countries so i suggest you check the local custom about tipping.

I work as a barmaid in england, and everyone says I'm on a bad wage at 5 pounds an hour. I'm not sure what the current exchage rate is but US dollars are usually double ours approx. I think here it is more common for people to tip in restaurants. 10% is supposed to be the accepted amount i think, but this doesn't apply in bars. People tip f they want to and it's usually just men that do it because I'm a fairly young girl and you know how a man's mind can work i'm sure. Sometimes I make no tips in a shift, on average it's a couple of pounds, but when I really really try , smile to everyone, be really jolly (and we're talking 10 hour shifts and serving thousands of people a night in a very busy nightclub so its not as easy as you'd think) then I can make just under ten pounds. But people always thinks that's a lot of money. personally before I ever worked in a bar i would never have thought of tipping when buying a drink!
