We always take our loved ones for granted until something like this happens. Every since I was a young teen, my stepdad and I didn't get along very well. It continued through until I had my daughter and things started to get a little better for him and I. We actually started seeing eye to eye, it wasn't always him because I had the blame for quite a bit of it as well.
He had to have open heart surgery in February '07 and this is the first time that I was actually afraid that I was going to lose him. My heart ached at the loss that I hadn't even experienced yet. Thankfully, he made it through it and is doing alot better today.. he's the closest person that I've had as a father and I love him for that. He's a great papa to both of my children.
Your father is in my thoughts and prayers!

I guess that is true. I always show my dad that I love him, still when things like this happen you are never prepared for them!

I was the same as far as my dad. He abused me physically and emotionally when I was a child. I ran away from home at 13
years old and never returned. Now I am his caregiver in his
ailing old age. God bless all parents.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

How old is your father? Mine is 84 and I have been his caregiver
for nearly 4 years now after he had a couple strokes. Since being
in my care he has been hospitalized a few times and had a few
surgeries including stents in his heart. Prayers going out to
you and dad and all other loved ones.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

My dad is only 50 - that is no age to get heartproblems. Luckily he is doing better now =/

Hi Marie! really sorry to learn about your Dad. yes, parents are the entities ... the relation most sincere and most dependable. I can feel the pain whilst being deprived of one of my parent i.e. my mom. She passed away calmost couple of year back. Surely, by the grace of Almighty he will be well soon and this is much necessary to make a food plan and some light diet for him. I wish him "get well soon".

what you think is right, do everything to make him good again putting him on a special diet help him alot. But sometime old ones is a little bit stubborn on dieting coz they not accepting the fact that they will not eat all the food they want so tell him to be more considerate coz what you do is for his own good....
