I just received an e-mail from my DIL with an article for a veterinarian and it was tell that raisins and grapes can kill a dog. She sent it because we used to feed our dog grapes just to watch her try to hold them in her mouth and eat them without them rolling out. It was so funny to watch her and we had absolutely no idea they were dangerous for her.
Has anyone had any experiences of the dog becoming ill or dieing from eating grapes and raisins?

wow, thanks for posting this BlueStar..and to the other posters with their additional info on the subject. i had never heard of grapes or raisins causing sickness in dogs before. we eat grapes often enough to worry about it though. i cant recall ever giving the dogs any, but i will for sure tell everybody in the house NOT to the next time grapes are around!

My husband is a vet tech in the Army, and I confirmed this with him after reading your discussion post. Here are 2 websites that are great for animal owners:
www.svhspets.com/Toxic%20food.htm (or www.svhspets.com/Toxic food.htm)
www.thepoop.com/poisonous.asp
